    I was suprised to see how heavy my trailer, truck and whats left of a 78 bronco was. once I put it all on the scales I found out why I only get 10 mpg @ 65 mph.

    sounds like a classic u-joint starting to go out. since they are cheap just replace them all, then see if it goes away. could also be the center support bearing.

    Thanks for the heads up Dave, I never ran any red so I have no worries there. I have been thinking about running some 2 stroke oil in the tank to see how it changes how the truck runs.

    yes it is the plus. I will have yet to try that. Maybe tommarrow depending on when I get home from work.

    dieselsite.com. I thought it might have been sticking and it said in the directions to use some wd40 on it. I had already tried that as well.

    With the 42" meats he is spinning 5.38's would bring it closer to stock with power.

    I installed one of the Boost pressure releif valves on friday, and the SES light still comes on when the boost hits 25 psi. by time the guage hits 27 psi it is defeuling and it drops and holds @ 25 psi. IT does it in every gear, but OD. once in OD I can get 30 psi, but the SES light still...

    say this number comes up to 12k but your trailer is rated for 12k. your still not going to be putting a 12k load on your trailer. you would be overloading the trailer.

    I would only buy a warn. 12k would be the min size winch for a 7k+ rig. 12k warn winch needs to be mounted feet forward other wise the winch can self destruct when winching. mile markers are definatly cheaper, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

    Why do you get so much more out of a diesel?

    this is true, but you also have to get that fuel into the cyclinder on the timed valve event. on a diesel the fuel is injected directly in the cyclinder from the injector. It does not have to get the fuel sucked into the cyclinder on the intake stroke like a gaser.

    Dunno if it ever really means anything but supposedly if you do not use a torque wrench on the lugs you cause a rotor to get warped from unequal torque. I myself have never used a torque wrench on the lugs.

    105k on the clock and nothing has ever been done to the driveline most likely. at that point you might want to check all the u-joints and center bearing if it has one.

    what gets me is if he was serious in testing the lucas he would have the same oil in both sides with the specific ratio of lucas in there. I run straight Rotella in our PSD, no additives needed for it in my mind.

    ummm, limited slips still have side gears. side gears go on the axle shafts, and the spider gears also known as the pinions go on the cross shaft.
