Question Low Voltage on start up: Battery light on

I have an Isspro volt meter wired straight to one of the batteries, and it's my opinion that the voltage drop for the first minute of startup is because the vacuum pump is running. You can hear it running over on the passenger fender well. I have wondered if you could wire it in such a way to...

    Removing Emblems - Best Technique?

Yup, 05's were bad for badges, I've seen allot of them peeling. I had mine replaced before I had 36K, under warranty, but didn't do the grill oval, didn't look bad. Now it does, I'll do it myself.

    which chainsaw?

You are in Lubbock, right? Here's one that's been on craigslist for a while now, 16" homelite chainsaw It needs a new chain and a tune-up, but it would be cheap! I don't know how much you use it though, so it may not work for you.

    Which Bilstein shock

If I was in the market for new shocks, I'd go to eshocks.com, I bought my gauges at egauges.com, a sister site, and was impressed with the service and price.

    Frontend shake

This problem has been posted on here before I think, and I got a letter from Ford this week, saying I may experience shimmy, a severe vibration and oscillation on steering wheel after traveling over a bump or dip, and doesn't dampen out. FoMoCo and the NHTSA are studying the condition. The...

    Dash Panel Identification

So what's the part number for a blank, my parts desk isn't that knowledgeable, and I can't find it in online wizards, it shows pics of an 03 dash in the 05 listing.

    Dash Panel Identification

Does anybody know where I can find the part number to a blank plate to go in place of the 12V power port? A two wheel drive without power slider or backup sensors panel should fit, right? I would like to add some switches and 120V receptacle in place of the power point, just not having any luck...

New Member Not a good way to find this forum

I buy parts from Ford Parts and Ford Diesel Parts at Powerstroke Shop from time to time, but the order lately took a while to ship, a lot longer than in the past. But the prices are pretty good, if you can afford to wait.

    Power Steering Box Leak

Don't think it's any of the fittings, but maybe if I pressure it up I might find a leak in the cooler or the lines to it. I don't believe I'll be falling for the henway joke today, thank you.

    Power Steering Box Leak

I took a hit to my drag link, which bent it, and I now have a leak coming from the powersteering box. It's not coming out where the pitman arm goes into the box, but somewhere on top. I took it off, and can't find any obvious leaks, no cracks, etc. I split it apart where the input shaft comes...

    Question Garage Door Opener Receivers

I run Liftmaster remotes, have remotes with 4 buttons for the shop doors, get allot of the stuff on ebay for dirt cheap. They make some universal receiver stuff that will work with remotes of their regular doors too.

    Question Oil change?

Close, I sample at temp with the motor running. I even go the extra mile, spray carb cleaner on the port, take a sample and dump it to flush the line, etc. (it may be slightly in a dead spot) and then take the real sample. If it's been a while, I bet your rates went up too. They used to be...

    Deep Cycle Batteries

I put PowerVolt (by Interstate) in all my equipment that needs replacing. It's the cheaper version, I get it at a local truck parts warehouse. But still have the stockers in my 6.0.

    Question Oil change?

Cat charges 13 bucks out here now. I sample allot of warranty machines, so Cat provides those free of charge. Also have a few of the pumps. The main thing is to do a consistent sample. Either always use the suction gun, or always use a pressure port. All the cat points (except the...

What is needed to service a 6.0 ?

You can go at it with a sawzall, just clamp it securely. I would prefer to use an .090 abrasive disk in a grinder to do something like that. What's the hex key weld?

What is needed to service a 6.0 ?

It will work, I've used both types, it's just hard to get a 3/4 ratchet or a 1/2 with an adapter inside the frame rail to get the filter loose. Last time I did it, I was lying on the road at a stoplight. Not a fun place to do it, and to make matters worse, it wasn't even the problem!

I've heard that with the nose in the snow, but it's seals, not penguins. Good catch, Russ.

Ever have a starter fall off?

Just be sure to use anti-seize on the bolts, otherwise you'll never get them out again if they do break off.

Ever have a starter fall off?

We had a 94 Chevy with a 350 that did it twice. Sheared the bolts. Put in grade 8's the second time around, not regular starter bolts. Never did it again, always started fine, so I don't think it was some interference issue.

What is needed to service a 6.0 ?

I pour all my waste oil into 55 gallon barrels behind the shop. I have a guy that comes by every few months and sucks it out with his vacuum truck and goes on his way (free). No mess, no fuss. But that's for a little larger volume. Perhaps you know some people who do this too where you can...

    2 Lo mod

I've thought about doing this, pull the factory switch panel and replace it with a blank off a 2WD. Use two Carling Contura's to select High-Low, and 2WD-4WD. Haven't done it yet, and don't know the details on how to do it yet either....

What is needed to service a 6.0 ?

I buy my filters at the local International Truck dealer. Not sure on the parts numbers though. I wouldn't buy the filters at Napa or Carquest, etc, I hear they are a bit different and don't seat properly. I use this socket, it's a major help. 36 mm on a 3/8 drive ratchet. It really helps...

    CCV mod question

Can you not just skip the hose to the air intake and just let it vent to atmosphere after the filter/canister? Or is there still too much smell?

    differential fluid change website

It's not Royal Purple, not sure of the brand any more, I buy it our local truck parts store, formerly a Carquest, now independent. I can also get it through my Chevron Lubricants dealer. I just use it up myself, I maintain enough pickups to use up a 5 gallon bucket in a reasonable period. A...
