    I opened a thread that morphed into a little bit broader discussion. I would like to change the title to more accurately reflect the conversation ("'04 heated seats/mirrors") . Is this possible? Thanks~

    No confusion whatsoever...I was tracking with you! There is a symbol on the mirror indicating they are heated, Doesn't that symbol light up when the heat is on? I assumed it did. Otherwise, how would you know they are working?

    I haven't seen my mirrors light-up yet. I wonder if the previous owner did the same thing. I can check for the fuse on my own, but is there any way to test the mirrors to prove they work?

    Great point! The button certainly could have been designed better, or placed elsewhere. It makes sense that they would unplug it during the summer. I will assume that is why he did, unless anyone else has any other ideas.

    Jeff, I got your PM. This sounds somewhat like my problem description from late October. Mine sounded like a traditional power steering pump that was running dry. The issue turned out to be the HPOP, which was covered by warranty. May be worth checking into....

    It took some doing, but today I got Superchips to commit to update my tuner based on an invoice from my dealer stating that they had flashed the ECU. I sent it in today, so this should be resolved. After re-reading my original post on this, my problem description sounded pretty vague IMO...

    Please pardon the thread hi-jack! I drove my own rig OTR for many years. If that nail isn't thru yet, it probably will end up there. The rubber (tire) will wear faster than the iron (nail), and the nail will push further in. IMHO, better to deal with it now, that deal with it later...

    Increasing the tire height will also hurt you. Unless you go with low-profile tires, you will actually lose some torque accelerating from a stop. You will burn more fuel getting the rig moving, which defeat the purpose.

    Both are excellent points. I had a core leak once that didn't soak the floor-board, but did stink up the cab. However, like you said, the defrost would fog up the windshield too. After reading your replies, I agree that the problem is probably elsewhere. This is why I appreciate this forum...

    Possibly a leak in your heating core. When towing up-hill, higher temps may have been forcing fluid to leak from your heater core, causing you to smell it. That would also explain the loss in fluid. Next time you smell it, set your heater to blow out thru your dash vents. See if that is...

    There are many Ford dealers who actually sell tuners, and I assure you, FoMoCo knows it! Most of these denials are dealer decisions, not manufacturer decisions. I question whether or not they can actually deny you the warranty.
