AC Shore Power Plug For Block Heater

Thanks Ron. Yeah, I didn't think there'd be a fuse but I had to ask. I checked my hardwiring on the back of the marinco plug and it all worked--I plugged in an electric drill and it worked. Perhaps I'll double check it again just to make sure. The only other thing that I can possibly think of...

AC Shore Power Plug For Block Heater

Does anyone know if the block heater has a fuse in it anywhere? Since it's on a 120 volt system I can't imagine it being with all the other fuses. Mine seems to not be working the last couple days and I'm wondering if I blew a fuse. I just installed the Marinco plug, but I tested the plug and it...

Bypass filter blow out, left stranded 3 times!

I agree. Although the filter is mounted within the acceptable angle as stated by Amsoil, the BE-110 filter is about 12" long and seems like a lot of filter to hang on the threads at an angle. And the seal keeps popping out near the top, right where the pressure on the seal is the least. I bet if...

Bypass filter blow out, left stranded 3 times!

My thoughts exactly. I plan on shipping the system back to Amsoil within a week for a refund. We'll see how big an issue getting money back from them is. I've heard horror stories.:cussing:

    So many to choose from

Umm, during RV season I changed programs quite a bit. Truck ran a bit better on the high performance setting, but had to put it on tow safe for towing. Does the SCT have towing weight limits on any of its settings? If not, then the SCT may be the way to go for me.:dunno

whats the best programmer for my 6.0?

I'm assuming you mean that since the SCMT doesn't have a tranny control, I am unable to tow above 8000lb on economy or 6000lb on high performance because of what it might do to the tranny? Are there any towing weight restrictions with the SCT? If I could tow my TT on any of the settings it...

whats the best programmer for my 6.0?

But the SCT is similar to the SCMT in that you've got to plug it in to change the programming, right??

    Tire pressures

Wow, you must have a pretty good tire gauge, mine only reports in tenths. :roflmao I was asking about the 76psi because I'd heard of a ______ tool that you can use to determine the best tire pressure for your tires, load, etc, and wondered if he used that or just SWAG'd it.

    So many to choose from

Click here to see a post on the 6.0 board. Lots of debate and good points brought out. I posted a similar question asking if anything was available that combined a custom tune with the ability to adjust on the fly. -popcorn

    Tire pressures

What do you mean by the "sweet spot"? How did you come up with 76psi?

whats the best programmer for my 6.0?

So is there a programmer out there that offers a custom tune--like SCT--AND the ability to change programs on the fly--like Banks?? I find it cumbersome to change programs with my SCMT based on towing or not towing, and I don't like using the same program all around.

    Vonage Telephone Service

Sorry, must've missed the post with your question. As far as a security system goes, Vonage or any other Internet phone service is at a disadvantage unless the connection is hooked up to a sufficient back up power source. If not, an intruder could simply cut power to your house, thereby...

    How to adjust E-Brake?

Emergency brake. Make it tighter. Make it looser. You know, adjust it. :)

AC Shore Power Plug For Block Heater

I'll have to check. Never paid much attention to it since I knew the plug was working because it starts so much easier. I'll try and remember to check in the morning.

AC Shore Power Plug For Block Heater

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd have put it in the bumper if my bumper wasn't black. Guess that's one of the few benefits of a black truck. As you can see, it doesn't stay very clean up in the snow belt. On edit: I also like the Marinco setup because plugging and unplugging can be a one hand...

    1st Diesel

That's more similar to what I've been getting. Bout 12 in the city and no more than 17 on the highway. Maybe it's this damned New England fuel or something, but mileage just sucks lately. I'd hate to think that the weight of our new kid dropped the MPG that much.

that's what I was gonna do but I figured there was an easier way. If I figure something out I'll let you know!

Bypass filter blow out, left stranded 3 times!

Good point, there isn't anything to hold the o-ring in place except the pressure from the filter being screwed on tight. The bottom of the assembly is flat, no grooves or anything. I've got one of the three filters that Amsoil says will work on it (three sizes based on quantity of oil).

Bypass filter blow out, left stranded 3 times!

Are you talking about getting money back from Amsoil or getting my money back from money spent on a bypass filter system? BTW-can somebody tell me how to make multiple quotes in one reply?

Bypass filter blow out, left stranded 3 times!

After thinking about it all day today, I think I'm gonna wait to hear from Amsoil on the paperwork I sent in on friday. Assuming they refund my money from the spent oil, I'm going to call and tell them I want to return the assembly as well. Then I'll get the oil guard system.
