    Pinion seal help

Mine weren't that tight, took a bit of force with a breaker bar but they came loose. Good luck.

    PSD Engine Life?

6.0's take 16 quarts. Dave was just saying that you can't put the full amount listed in the book into the engine since you're not getting the full amount out during an oil change. You'll probably be a quart shy. If the dipstick is reading full, you're good.

    Exhaust Brake Questions

Does this work on 6.0's? On edit: Is it needed or would it make a difference with the tow/haul activated?

    Tire pressures

Does anyone know a good rule of thumb as to how much a lesser tire pressure affects mileage? I dropped down to the manufacturer suggested 50/55 and mileage has sucked on road trips. I can't see colder weather affecting the mileage on the road once the truck is warmed up, etc.:dunno

Does anyone make a living with their truck?

Does it count if you're making a living to drive your truck?? Seems to be the case as of late. :)

Does anyone make a living with their truck?

Gee, Ron, install a small fridge and bathroom and you could just sell the house! :roflmao You've got a nice set up in that truck!

    So ummm - Got Ding?

You're right Barrett. I don't got ding. I got tone. Guess that makes me a flip-flopper.....guess living in Mass is wearing off on me.:roflmao

    How Loud???

I replaced the whole thing with MBRP 4", CAT in place and the straight muffler: no drone just lots of turbo whistle. We've take a couple road trips so far and find the whistle unobtrusive. I'd imagine that replacing the stock muffler with straight pipe would give similar results. :dunno

    dino or synthetic

The independent guys at Blackstone say they can't tell a difference between petroleum and synthetic in regards to wear metals, etc, in the samples. But personally, my truck seems to run quieter on synthetic and have smoother startups. That and synthetics won't "coke"--according to a post by John...

what can i do w/out getting rid if the warranty

I agree. By my last "fraud" post I wasn't trying to say that irresponsibility is the way to go. Actually, just the opposite. I was just trying to dispell the myth that everybody with a tuner is a horsepower freak and beats the snot out of their truck. The ONLY reason I have a tuner is because...

what can i do w/out getting rid if the warranty

Fraud? Maybe if you lie through your teeth and say you've never had a tuner and the tech isn't smart enough to detect it. But if they ask and you tell them you've got one, then it becomes a judgement call on the part of the service manager....not fraud. Remember, if you leave the truck tuned and...

what can i do w/out getting rid if the warranty

Not necessarily. My service rep knows I've got the SCMT and he still replaced my turbo under warranty when it went bad. I think that's more of an individual thing and I certainly don't advertise to Ford that I've got one. When going to the dealership for service, I just program it back to stock...

    XM radio

I've got mine mounted in the same spot as Bill; it's out of the way and really can't be seen (well, on a black truck, that is). You may need an extension to run the antenna that far from the unit, though.

Important things to remember changing oil

I don't see how it'd affect the warranty, it's just a different plug holding the oil in. And if that was a dumb question, then I guess I've asked quite a few of them on this forum. Keeps the smart guys feeling smart. :roflmao

XM, GPS, C-Betr mirrors, and a Ranchhand brushguard in case I'm starin' at the GPS too long....:roflmao

    Vonage Telephone Service

We've had it for almost a year and the sound quality is just as good as the land line. In fact, we called our speculative relatives on the Vonage line and they thought it was our home phone. Then we told them we just changed. I believe you've got to have a good cable modem connection, not sure...

Robert, do you have the fumoto drain valve? That might prevent the hot oil from running down your arm! :sweet

    Window tint

Unless you've got experience, pay someone to do it for you. I'm glad I could keep my Texas tags up here; I've probably got the darkest windows in the whole state of Mass. :thumbs
