    its a test to see how much the cylinder is doing. or contributing to the performance of the engine. if you have a miss it will tell you what cylinder is missing.

    have them do the contribution test too. last time i delt with one that missed or rough idle was a number 8 injector but they have a fix for that. that was a early 99 build tho

    yeah it could be i would do a compression check with a good gauge or a cylinder contribution test with a good scanner. see what they come up with could be a injector too. there is alot of things it could be.

    why are you removing the studs out of it. ive done a few sets of balls joints on these pickups and replaced the bearings assembly and never had to remove the studs out of the the bearing assembly. just trying to figure out what your doing.

    check your batteries first, ive seen it where they say it starts hard and its just that one of the batteries are junk and the other one is still in good shape and runs the whole truck while the other one is at 6 volts

    found the wire lee and grounded it it worked but it would kill the engine. tore out tranny to find pump was assembled wrong fixed the problem gonna put it back in today and see how it works now.

    that scan tool is from snap on and it cost around 5 grand but you can hook it up to anything pretty much and it tells me what the engine and tranny are doing basically. another thing is we have one when it rains the electrical gets wet and it runs like it is missing.

    i could be leaking on the exhuast side of the turbo, but to me it sounds like you need to do a compression check before you touch anything. compression testing the engine will tell you what the cylinders are doing, you get the specs on what they should be and then see what you have.dusted...

    shifting it shifted fine this morning, drove home last night with my scanner hooked to it so i could see what the tranny was doing when it shifted. it said both shift solenoids were working. but it wouldnt hit second. it was like in nuetral.
