Which battery is #1 and #2?

I had my truck in for a repair at the dealership and they do a checkout of the truck and give you a report of all their findings. One of the things I saw was battery #2 was @ 550 CCA and battery #1 was @ 750 CCA. Their comment was that battery #2 might need replaced. How can you tell which is...

How to lube upper ball joint on 99 F250 PSD

Thanks for all the suggestions and info. I think I'll replace the fittings with either 45 or 90 degree ones. This appears to be the best approach. I did like the grease gun adapter too. :burnit

How to lube upper ball joint on 99 F250 PSD

I'm trying to figure out how to lube the upper ball joints on my 1999 F250 SD PSD. The zerk fittings are on the bottom facing straight down and there doesn't appear to be room to put my grease gun fitting on the nipple. How do you do these? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.:burnit

    Blue Oval news

Big Blue Oval News I just visited there and looked into the forums. Lots of jokers there. Couldn't seem to find any serious responses to the new 6.4. Don't think I'll visit there often if I'm looking for real info. Just my take..... :burnit

Is my truck right for this forum?

I've been reading some posts by various people and responses they have been given and I'm wondering if the title of the forum (99+ Superduty 7.3L Power Stroke Engine and Drivetrain) is for 99 7.3 later versions, or for all 99 and up 7.3s? :burnit I love this icon!

    Using Overdrive While Towing

I tow my 5th wheel trailer in overdrive when I don't have a big headwind or when I don't have a lot of steep hills. Will this hurt my transmission? I've had conflicting responses from the RV forum and thought I'd ask the experts. Thanks, :burnit

    1999 Trip Computer inacurate readings

Thanks Robert. I always take the key out. Habit I have since my wife's Contenental won't reset until the key is removed. I have a 38 gallon tank and I know I'm only down about 5 gallons. Weird.... I didn't see in the owner's manual a separate reset of the miles to go indicator. On the Lincoln...

    1999 Trip Computer inacurate readings

I have a probelm with my trip computer. I tow a 5th wheel trailer some time and the owner's manual said that can cause inacurate readings on the trip computer. When I'm not pulling the 5vr, the mileage portion seems to work OK, it's the miles remaining that is messed up. I reset the mpg this...

Straight scoop on oil for 7.3

Less oil. I did find my owner's manual and it says to put it 14 quarts with a filter change. I guess I'll start there and check it to see if I need another quart. My build date on the truck was 6/98. So, that put's it in the early 1999 catagory. Thanks for all the response. I'm sure I'll have...

Straight scoop on oil for 7.3

I just got my 1999 7.3L and the relative I bought it from told me the engine took 14 quarts of oil w/filter. When I called Ford to price an oil change, they told me it held 15 w/filter and so did Speedy Lube. What's the real scoop? Thanks
