    Acetone revisited

I would question the 30% increase in mileage. Personally, I am reluctant to introduce an unknown into a pricy fuel system. It was discussed in detail here: http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//Forum1/HTML/013660.html I believe it was mentioned that ignition/combustion is not a problem, on the...

    Dodge Mega Cab

I'm underwhelmed by the whole package, closer to limo than truck. They mention 20mpg with a gasser, not likely! They always shoot themselves in the foot, still advertisiing the Hemi when folks are starting to look at MPG figures. I think the 01' will last me til' I go to that big wrecking...

    Sticking Steering

Have you checked the belt? Rare, but it happens from time to time. At a standstill, slowly going lock to lock might be a way to check the pump, Manual goes into pressure checks, ec.

    Who is getting snow?

Getting close to me. It's lurking at about 3500 elevation, I am at 2500. I'm trying to hurry the Gas Co. to get a line to the shop, need heat.

    Sticking Steering

If they are the orginal ball joints, they are probabley due. Jack it up, push/pull at bottem of tire, watch for movement at the joint, repeat at the top of tire. Also, slip bar under tire, pry up, gently, watch for movement. Check hubs first, that is the easiest.

    Best Shocks for F-250

I have about 33K on the Rancho 9000's. So far, so good. The in cab adjustment can be a PITA, a leak here, a leak there.

    whats goin on?

That was my orginal intention. As I pointed out about the resistance of the lamps. He mentioned they done a continuity check, this may or not be a "continuity tester", a safe assumption is that it could also designate a ohmeter, eithe VOM or DMM. Also that the lamps are not wired thru the GEM.

    whats goin on?

There are 8 bulbs in parallel, so resistance will read very low. Try with bulbs removed. The ground is probably for the PWM module,

    Callin all Elk

My buddy was Elk hunting, on top of a mountain he tried his Elk call (bugle). An immediate answer from the valley. "Damn, that guy needs practice!" he thinks. A few more calls, frantic answers, coming up the mountain. He gets the guy fairly close, then bails off the mountain, back to camp...

    Fuel Economy Changes

I went to 295's from 265's. Any difference is not noticable. Nothing to work up a sweat about. I,m more concerned about traction, handling, ride than economy

    First time for everything

A cheap DMM will allow you to measure battery voltage. Should see 150 - 200 RPM when cranking. No start when cold, low batterys, wait a full two minutes to make sure G-plugs are ogg, then crank. Just for curiosty I cranked mine w/o waiting, started up in a dense black cloud of smoke. Temp...

    help...strating issues

Another thought is HPOP losing its prime. Remove plug, check for oil. If was fuel pump, in theory runnning should not make a difference. No vacuum to suck fuel up as in a gasser/carb. combo. Dieselmann would be a person to ask: http://www.intellidog.com/dieselmann/home.html But, actually...

    help...strating issues

Step # 1 is to remove chip before any diagnostics. A chip can set codes, such as IPR out/spec. Resulting in the replacement of good componennts. The chip itself may cause problems, or being loose in the socket. The fuel pump may be suspect, since you park nose up, maybe losing its prime...

    AC Fan or Switch

OR, the aforesaid connector was loose, and/or dirty pins. and unplug/plug cured it. IIRC, the resistor is bypassed in top speed, so should not effect high gear running.

    Air filtration results..

Memory fails, but I hear/read that the K&N did not seal well in the PSD airbox. Also, somewhere/sometime it was posted that except for radically modfied engines, the stock set up flowed an ample amount of air.

    Starting Issues

No doubt then, Texicas 70* is radically diffrent than western 70* Low compression will require more G-plug use. Per 01 manual, EOT controls" plug on" and EOT and Barometric pressure decide the duration of cycle.

    Starting Issues

To reiterate: I HAVE NO PROBLEMS starting @ 60* w/o g-plugs. If it is "rough",another problem may be responsible. No, I do not make a practice of starting w/o G-plug cycle.

    Great Service from Powerstrokeshop.

It is refreshing to hear about people/business'es that really care about their customers. That short amount time of time is amazing. To stray off the topic, I have found the contractor's in this area to operate in the same manner. They show up when scheduled, see the job thru w/o any...

    Starting Issues

In 70* weather, should not need the glow plugs. I've started mine at around 60* w/o waiting. Battery's probably the problem. You should see about 200 RPM while cranking (with AIC).

    Wrecked it.

70 mph crashes can complicate your life, not to mention the vehicle's. Glad you both fared well.
