Where can I get these additives
I'm tired of looking, so I was hoping somebody here would be able to tell me where to find these fuel additives like the Opti-lube XPD, the FPPF rv, bus, suv Diesel/Gas Fuel Treatment, Schaeffer Diesel Treat 2000, etc. I,d like to find out were to find these, pick one, order it and get on with...- Fandini

2006 oil recommendation
When you say Mobil 1 are you talking about the kind walmart carries, light duty diesel or the Mobil Delvac 1, the kind I see at the truck stops. Is there any difference between the two?- Fandini

Awesome explanation. I've truely learned alot just from your response and I thank you. Biggest thing I learned was that what I was using ain't gettin' it. Now I'm on a search to find the additives that bring the ulsd below the 460...- Fandini

Hey Flopster, your close to me in geography, no problems in that hot Charleston wheather with 5w-40. We've had about 65 days over 90 degrees this year and about 8 over 100. I'm sure your hot weather is similar if not worse. I know the couple of times I've been to Charleston it had to be the most...- Fandini

2006 oil recommendation
You guys running Rotella synthetic, how have your EGR valves performed? Did you see some improvement in your milage. Saw about 2-3 mph improvement in my wife's Toyota 4runner when I swithched from a synthetic blend to a full synthetic (Royal Purple).- Fandini

Wonder if there would be any advantage using Mobile 1 over the Rotella synthetic. They are the same viscosity. The Rotella seems to be easier to find and less expensive to purchase. I wonder if there would be a significant fuel mileage increase or difference between the 15w-40 viscosities and...- Fandini

I'm gettin' 30mpg with my 6.0!!!!
Man, I don't get anything close to those figures. I tow a little 3500 lb tool trailer almost every day on country roads and around town. I only average 9 to 10 mpg. I started off a little better when the truck was new, about 12 mpg on average but it has eventually settled to about 10 mpg avg...- Fandini

Okay, I've gotten some really good info from the fuel filter price thread with International part #'s:thanks . Is there a good place to get the OEM oil filters too? Can anybody tell me if the Rotella T 5w-40 sythetic can be used under normal operating conditions and temps above 30 degrees F on a daily basis. Is there a ceiling on outdoor temps on this stuff? My truck has 5000 miles and I'm looking to make my first oil change. Any Help?- Fandini

Welded EGR Valve
I'm new to this and I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I just bought an 06 F-350 cc in july with the 6.0 diesel so I'm trying understand as much as possible. Why do you want to bypass the egr valve? Feel free to reply in depth. Thanks!-popcorn- Fandini

My owners manual for my 06 F-350 says that a 5w-40 is only acceptable in temps 30 degrees and below. Does that mean that the 5w-40 Rotella T sythetic would not be acceptaqble in temps above 30 degees F or would it be an acceptable replacement for the standard Rotella T 15w-40?
