Just got mine done today. I have some pics but can only download them on my wifes computer upstairs. I just used a striaght 4" pipe at 3" lenght. Stock Water Temp Gauge
haha Great, Well nice to know it is not really reliable either. I don't think I will really worry about it. No more room on my Apillar guage so I will live with it. If I see it getting past the R then I no it is time to let her cool back down.- addicted

DIY INTAKE
Well the picutres I saw on the DIY you don't need a 45 degree peice. You can just use straight pipe. That stock flexible elbow on the intake now should work. I might have to look at the pics again as I thought it would bend enough...but I might not be as done as I thought.- addicted

Hey Hillbilly, I will be putting it in this weekend. No NAPA around here so I ordred one from fleet filter and it was 28 bucks or something like that with shipping. I found the clamps at Homedepot but also wasted about 2 hours trying to find heating ducting or piping that would fit...- addicted

Stock Water Temp Gauge
Since I've had my truck my Stock Water Temp Guage barely reads between the C and the begining of the white strip. One time when it was 100 and I was pulling a load over the grape vine I got it to the "o" on Normal. About 15 degrees from 90. I know I'm not running that cold....at least I don't...- addicted

TA DA Well I finally got it. Picked up the tap yesterday at lunch and had it all in by the evening. Got it at Fastenal for 14 bucks. It works great and my Boost gauge finally works a lot better without that huge hole in my manifold. I have better response now as well and hopefully better...- addicted

Block heater and hissing sound?
Not that it helps a lot but I have a hose heater in my Mercedes and hissis for the first 15-20 seconds then quiets down and the car heats up just fine. I agree I think it is just water rapidly heating and expanding. I think it will be just fine. Now that I think about it my last block heater...- addicted

Thank you Russ. That really helps. I just hope you are wrong on the size of the tap :) cause then I need to go back out and try to find a 1/4 NPT. I ordered them online cause I couldn't find any after calling around town, except fastenall and they were to expensive...so if they arrive...- addicted

Cool, Well as soon as the taps get here I think I'm good to go. Went and carefully studied some bolts and it does appear this is NPT. Just stuff in my garage never went to a hardware store or anything. What is the deal with 3/8 NPT and and 5/8 NF having different sizes yet being the same...- addicted

Haha, Thanks DaveBen, Yea on base they have autocenters where we can do the work ourselves but the number they had was wrong and when I went to find it the street did not exist sooooo....I have thought it is a better idea to have the tools anyway.
