    Back in the day when gassers had mechanical fuel pumps they would sometimes loose a diaphram and pump gas into the crankcase.Not to often but it did happen.I never had one of our fuel pumps out but could this same problem happen?

    Mic the shaft on both pumps.Did you use a puller to take the pulley of the old pump?

    check the #22 maxi fuse under the hood.If it is burnt you have to unplug the fuel heater then replace the fuse.It's a 30 amp. You can unplug the fuel heater from inside or the outside of the fuel bowl.

    VP is under the AC compressor. take your fan belt loose and check the pully for slop and spin it , if there is no resistance prolly the diaphram is shot.
