How are you disposing of old oil?

Yup, use empty one gallon oil containers. I dispose of my used oil at a Sunoco gas station. Helps to know the owner.

    6.0 mpg

That is correct. Perusing this site now from work.

    6.0 mpg

I average 15mpg and have gotten as high as 19mpg on a 5 hour ride from southeast PA to northwest PA. I've recently dropped my highway cruising speeds to 65-68mph with cruise control an and I'm seeing averages of 17-17.5mpg. Granted, round trip travel to work every day is 100 miles, ninety...

    Out of Fuel

I use my trip meter as a back-up to the gauge. Never trust gauges or low fuel lights.

    RECALL notice

Here is what I wrote on another diesel website concerning the most recent recall release: I received my recall notices this past summer. Vehicle has never seen the dealer since I purchased the truck in June 2004. Received a reminder from Ford in November or December to have the recalls...

to RMS or not to RMS?

The drip on my trans has never dropped to the ground. I just clean the trans during an oil change. Sure enough the drip is back. I have 35,000+ miles on my truck and I have never been to the dealer to complain about this drip. I do not worry about it.

Wet stacking, 2004 engine idle up mod

Remember the idle-up criteria: 1) Park or Neutral 2) Service brake not applied The idle-up stops if you step on the brake pedal or shift out of Park or Neutral (automatic transmission vehicles).

Changed over to Rotella 5-40 synthetic.

That's where I buy my oil.

Changed over to Rotella 5-40 synthetic.

Been running Rotella since new. I switched to 5W-40 synthetic for the winter. Around the same time my fuel-in-oil percentages started to climb. Of course I idled the engine longer in the winter. I had not noticed any fuel mileage improvements between 10W-40 amd 5W-40. I did notice a slight...

Wet stacking, 2004 engine idle up mod

I do not believe so. The information for the mod that I mention is in the 2004 body manual that aftermarket companies use to upfit the basic truck chassis. There may be a mod for the old 7.3L but I do not know what it would be. My 2004 F250 is my first truck and my first diesel engine. Sorry...

    Diesel Kleen question

I purchase Power Service at my local Wally World (Walmart). I have heard on other diesel sites that Walmart is no longer going to carry Power Service.

Wet stacking, 2004 engine idle up mod

The only credit I can take for this "Skweeker" mod is that I think I give a better explaination of where to find the body harness wires.

Wet stacking, 2004 engine idle up mod

My vehicle is a 2004 F250 PowerStroke with the TorqShift automatic transmission. This mod should work on the F350's also as long as you have the TorqShift. I do not think the PTO software was installed in the manual transmission Super Duty with the PowerStroke engine but I cannot confirm this.

Sorry, no pictures. I do not as yet have a digital camera.

Wet stacking, 2004 engine idle up mod

Oh, here's something in case anyone is interested. Prior to performing this modification on my truck I connected an ammeter between the battery positive post and the PTO idle up wire under the dash. The engine did idle up as expected and the ammeter indicated 7 milliamps of current being...

Wet stacking, 2004 engine idle up mod

Update for Max Power: I just looked at my private messages from the other website. The gentleman who used my description of this mod has a 2003 PowerStroke with an automatic transmission. He states that the mod did work in his truck. So I guess the answer is this mod will work on 2003...

Wet stacking, 2004 engine idle up mod

Go right ahead and post this infowhere ever you like. l As I said this is what I wrote up on another site dedicated to our trucks. I do believe it will work on 2003 PowerStrokes also. I actually wrote the above post to help a member on the other web site find his wires. I think his vehicle is...
