    IF the computer is encrypted, I would suspect that it was some EPA requirement, to discourage tampering with the emission controls, and also, that if this is the case, you can expect to see the same kinds of encryption on the General, and Dodge as well.

    I have a 2000 F450, that came with power locks, but no remote keyless entry. Would it be possible to add the factory remote keyless entry to the truck. (I'm not a big fan of aftermarket alarms and such.) I've also noticed that ford has a kit, but can't find any information about it.

    Towing fuel mileage/empty fuel mileage

    You should probably check your fuel filter on the Duramax. Mine usually gets around 12-14 depending on the how much weight I'm towing, and 18-19 empty mixed city/highway. Mine is a 2002 3500 regular cab 4x4 LB7 with the 6 speed.

    Anyone using a gear vendor over/underdrive?

    They make a 4wd version, but it mounts behind the transfercase, so you can't engage the overdrive unit in 4x4. I think there is one that is made by US Gear that mounts between the tranny and transfer case. But obviously thats a bit more work to install.

    First off, I susupect that your wobble/shake is most likely warped rotor. As far as your clunk goes, I'd start by checking your ball joints, and wheel (hub) bearings.

    I would think that even if they did stop producing Mercon (non V) from Ford, that Dexron 3 would be ok as Dexron 3/Mercon is normally sold as the same thing. GM still uses Dexron 3 in many new vehicles, so I'd expect availability to remain good for a long time to come. Am I missing something?

    Something that needs to be mentioned, is that the SCA only applies if your truck has green coolant. If you have the gold coolant, it is maintianence free, and never needs the SCA additive. There is also a way to convert from green to gold.

    Easiest way I've found to remove the studs is to use a vice, and double nut them.
