    Preferred Guages

I'd suggest a fuel pressure gauge. I just went thru a problem with a bad fuel pump. A fuel pressure gauge would have made the problem a lot easier to troubleshoot. Might also have saved me from breaking down on the road.:( As far as electrical or mechanical, I'm not sure, I think either...

new here, gotta few questions you diesel gurus

Well, I can't remember for certain who it was but he talked about retapping the fuel filter housing with an 1/8" pipe tap to get rid of the metric threads. Also, Bob Riley sells a fitting to convert the fuel filter housing to a standard 1/8" Pipe thread. Here's the link to what Bob sells...

OK, gettin' ready to buy the stuff I need to install a fuel pressure gauge. I read the FPR fitting is 1/8" pipe thread , but also have read that it's some kind a metric thread. Anybody know for sure what the thread pitch is on an early 99 for the Fuel pressure gauge fitting? TIA for your...

    Idling Higher After Mod's

Since the idle is computer controlled I would bet that it's the same before and after the mods. Prolly just the difference in sound that makes you think it's idling a little higher.

2000 F-250 Power loss after appr. 30 minutes of highway travel

I had a similar problem this weekend. I changed the CPS and the truck fired right up. Drove it about another 10 miles and lost all power again, the truck actaully died. Changed the fuel filter. No sign of gelling. While I had the filter out I turned the key on to see if I was getting a good...

    electrical sending unit fuel pressure

I'm going to be installing a fuel pressure gauge in the near future. Just curious if you happen to know the percentage of inaccuracy. Also the delay you mention..............is it there for dampening purposes. I've heard there are a lot of spikes in the fuel pressure on our...

Bypass filter blow out, left stranded 3 times!

Looking at the first picture up above. It doesn't look to me like they gave you the right filter. It doesn't look like the filter boss has a grove or anything to hold the filter's o-ring in place.

    Sticking FPR or Bad Pump

Nope, no sign of wax anywhere.........also, I usually run a double slug of Power Services (white bottle) during the winter months, just for added protection against gelling. Also, I did several key on (10-15 seconds) key off cycle and still didn't get a filter bowl full of fuel.........

    Sticking FPR or Bad Pump

I'm not quite sure, but my fuel pump might be going or gone also. Just out of curiousity, how quickly should the pump refill the fuel filter housing? Seems like I recall the pump being rated around 30 + GPH............ Good 'n chilly hear also...........gelled fuel would be cloudy...

    Trip Preparation Need Advice

Not necessarily.......kinda depends on how hard the truck is worked. A lightly loaded truck could go quite a while before the piston would start failing due to overheating..........
