Very hard to believe, Unless they've been chipped.. The loss of the cat will let the VGT solenoid adjust the vanes on the turbo to build more boost, sooner. Thats it. And thats why we do it (as well as the cool sound :sweet ). Diesels do not need backpressure.- slingingsmoke
