    97 psd alternator?

DUDE!!!!! Thanks:hail :thanks I have long suspected something of that nature, but several posts asking about that "elsewhere" got me zero responses. Welcome and thanks for the info.

    Reverse Polarity??

What did the guy at checkers use to jump her? Some of the chargers and even jumper cables now are self correcting if hooked up wrong. However, I don't think any of the Cherokee's were positive ground, stock. Maybe they got a deal on a mis-labeled battery:dunno EDIT: Did a little research...

    EBPV Love Story

The wires going to the EBPV, the Grey with Red Stripe is the 12v+, the other goes to ground. Based on the versions of the mod I've seen/done, you can leave the ground as is and just cut the Grey/Red wire and connect it to you're 12v switched source.

    Throttle Position Sensor --- TPS

I received the TPS today. It looks like it might be able to bolt on, but it is considerably different than the stock TPS. For one, the part that engages the throttle is a different design. Also, the connector is different and sticks out to the side instead of straight back. I'm going to pull...

    EBPV Love Story

Many just disconnect it with no problems, so no reason you couldn't just unplug it from the harness and wire it to a switch instead. Or you could use a switch in the existing wire to disable it, but switch it on when you want the PCM to control it. Or use two switches to have both options...

    EBPV Love Story

When I got my truck I broke with tradition and kept the EBPV, but wired it to use as an exhaust brake. The other morning tho it actually earned from me a newfound respect. I headed out the driveway, late for work, with the explorer console flashing "ice" at me. As I turned the corner onto the...

    97 psd alternator?

Strangely, my Amp gauge exhibits similar behavior even with my GPR disconnected, tho not as low of a reading as when the GP's were being used. Maybe part of it is due to the initial battery recharge:dunno

    Orange Boot

Even before they tear, the Orange intake boot has been known to collapse and sometimes get sucked into the turbo if the air filter gets too restricted. More of a problem with the stock filter, but best to just replace it and be safe.

    Blue DT466E CPS in a '95

Thats what I gathered as well, but I know there was considerable disagreement on that. Be hard to tell without using the CPS signal to trigger a strobe, and compare the 2.

California License Requirements for WVO Collection/Transport

It's $100 for the license, plus $75 per transport vehicle, and now also whatever additional cost for the $1m insurance (avg $300-400 yearly). Little wonder most WVO and Bio makers out here choose to ignore the law and collect oil without the license. Fine for the first offense (if you're...

    Blue DT466E CPS in a '95

Well, I succumbed to the hype a week ago and decided to try the BLUE MIRACLE CPS in my truck. Had 80k on the current one, so wanted to get a spare anyway. $105 and a few bandaids later, and I was running in the Blue Zone. After a week and about 1000 miles, I've noticed no reduction in body...

California License Requirements for WVO Collection/Transport

yippee!!! Got the license today, so I'm legal for another year:rolleyes: Pleasant surprise, instead of the windshield sticker being a hideous construction yellow like last year, it is now a pleasantly hideous orange color. -mad I feel it only fitting to give credit to the great state...

I want a foot mounted dimmer switch

I was reminded about the bright box mod causing melted headlamp connectors due to increased heat. Upgrading the headlight wires adds cost, but I may go that route anyway. I'm going to try and work out some other ideas to avoid cutting and rerouting the existing headlight circuit.

I want a foot mounted dimmer switch

Ok, TimMiller's write-up decoded. Looks very straight forward. With his setup, the stock MF (Multi-Function) switch pretty much behaves as normal. When it is on low, you can use the foot switch to change back and forth. When MF is on high, the foot switch has no effect. Potential...

Wheel weights and Aluminum wheels question.

There are some stick on weights that go on the inner part of the wheel that are the least noticeable. As to conventional weights, you want the coated ones to prevent corossion. And try to make sure they only use new weights, the old ones lose the finish and start the corrosion process...

I want a foot mounted dimmer switch

Great, now you've got me started on another mod The center post is power in. Click and it is connected to one side only, click again and it connects to the other side only. And back and forth she goes. Have the EVTM out. After I get thru my wifes list of "honey-do's", I'll look and see if...

I want a foot mounted dimmer switch

I've been toying with the idea of doing the foot dimmer mod myself. I only miss it on road trips, not much use for high beams in commuter traffic. If I get around to it soon I'll post instructions for the '95. Don't have a SuperDuty EVTM, so not sure how much different it would be.

    7.3 surging ?

Yep, theres a problem. If it shorts the PCM (or IDM?) shuts down that whole side. You need to pull the cover and check all the connectors. Also, check the glow plugs while you are at it. On that connector, the outer pins each go to a glow plug, the inner ones to an injector, and the center is...

    7.3 surging ?

No, the one from international is a different size, otherwise it would be alot cheaper. Some have just left it out, tho that would make me uneasy. Often you can just clean it with a swab and not remove it. At least you were able to get one right away. Alot of the dealers don't stock those odd...

    7.3 surging ?

Cool. Thats something you need to check every time you change the fuel filter. Very common problem. By "changed", do you mean the filter? The FPR screen is in the 1/4" hole in the side of the housing, and usually just gets cleaned.

    7.3 surging ?

Where the emergency brake is, remove the plastic trim. Back in behind there hard to see is the PCM. If there is a chip it will be plugged into the end towards the back of the truck. They are kind of notorious for working loose and causing intermittant issues. Hopefully it is that simple.

    7.3 surging ?

First off, Welcome!!! Don't know the history of your truck, but I'll make some suggestions. The issues you have are not 100% specific to any one problem, but there are things you can try to narrow it down. First, if you have a chip installed, remove it temporarily to eliminate it as a...
