    4 days and no POST

Cheap or free totes??? Often sewar and water utilities get floculants and enzymes in them. Water here gives away containers to customers when they have them. Check locally.

CAT extended life coolant and a proper change

I know that feeling... I run $28 a gallon Evans. Heater hose pulled enough to lose a few quarts when I had the tranny out. Also has to be dumped if contaminated with more than about 3% water....

Should be fine if it's well supported.

Just when I need it most!

:D I actually wouldn't mind if you really wanted to send the housing out, but it would be a waste of time and shipping expense. It really is easy to drill or grind that rib away. If you have a definite fuel leak it's worth pulling the housing anyway. Sometimes they rot through and drip...

what kind of mileage to expect

I don't recall, but you can take the marmon clamp off easily and move the downpipe enough to see it.

CAT extended life coolant and a proper change

Any time you switch coolants it's wise to use some kind of flush. Then flush that repeatedly with water till it drains clear. CAT may have a specific recommended flush, though any good name brand flush should be fine. If you go with premixed the first fill, it will be hard to get all the...

Just when I need it most!

Hey Richard. I have the vacuum gauge on a tube running to the cab. Only problem is in the cold it fills with stiff vegoil. Cyberdyne makes a digital vac gauge with an electric sending unit. I think Summit racing has them in stock Example on Ebay

    275 gallon tote tanks....

Absolutely not a good idea to pressurize totes. They aren't designed for any pressure at all. They would certainly not take any vacuum. They are basically the same material as a 35lb veg oil cubee, but a little thicker with a cage for support.

Go with an electric fan too, with a manual or temp activated switch.

what kind of mileage to expect

Welcome! Wow, 8-10 would hurt. Check all the brakes and make sure they aren't dragging. If it's 4wd make sure the transfer case and hubs are disengaging. The stock fan has a temp activated clutch. If operating normally it mostly freewheels and costs under 1 mpg. If it is stuck...

Just when I need it most!

It's a really quick project. Especially if you notch the rib with a dremel disk and knock the pieces off with a chisel. If you clean it good first you can get all the particles out with a shop vac, and not have to remove the canister. 1/2 hour job easy if you remember the standpipe is reverse...

    97 f-250 down!

The steering part you need to elaborate on. The won't shift out of park, check your brake lights. Odds are they aren't working either so probably a fuse, brake switch, or wiring issue.

i have an oil leak and need help

Speed is important. You usually only have a few minutes before RTV and Elastomeric sealant skins, then it won't bond properly. Lay down a good bead and put the parts together quickly. You probably know this, but make sure before sealing the surfaces are squeeky clean. Any oil or glycol film will...

i have an oil leak and need help

This is what I've been told for PN's RTV Silicone Sealer (special sealant for powerstroke) (Ford) F5TZ-19G204-AB (5oz, 1/2 caulk tube) (Wacker) T-442 (Internatioal) 1830858C1

    97 f-250 down!

I'll agree, base on the limited evidence presented. Bad or corroded battery cables or connections are a possibility too.

    Wierd electrical problem?

Yeah, battery anomalies cause wierd problems in these trucks. Also check all fuses. Sometimes a bad fuse will cause odd behavior in other circuits. When my keyless entry fuse blows, for instance, my dash lights come on when I hit the door locks.... A bad ground could cause similar wierdness...

i have an oil leak and need help

I've had great results using Permatex Right Stuff. Stickier and tougher than any other sealant I've used. Actual recommended sealant from international is a special low silicon grey RTV. Made by wacker if memory serves.

    Stuck and other ramblings

I've been evaluating the Dieselcraft Cyclone centrifugal oil filter as a WVO cleaner/dewaterer. Got a bit behind on honeydo's tho. If interested, the meat of my testing in on page six of THIS POST at biodiesel infopop. pretty interesting results from the device. Not as great as SunWizard...

Installing HPOP....Leave Springs in or Out?

I know the ones you mean, and there should likely be a check valve below them. Not sure if there are any problems with removing them, but at a guess, I'd say leave them. If you have air in the rails, at shut down the pressure could blow air back thru the HPOP and cause it to start out dry when...

    Storage Tanks

For some reason that sounds backwards to me (probably cause I've done the same thing:D ) The most common plastic barrels and tanks are HDPE. Also Plastic fuel tanks are a type of HDPE. From biodiesel.com; Non Compatible Materials (B100) Elastomers: Nitrile Rubber Polypropylene...

Clean it all off again and isolate all the leaks. If it's puddled at the front that normally is NOT from the EBPV.

WVO conversion on a 97 or 03 7.3??? Need Help!!

My truck (see sig) currently has over 370,000 miles and I would drive it across country in a heartbeat. For long trips, WVO is great. For a 30 mile commute, you'll probably be doing maybe 15-20 max on WVO (subtract warm up and purge time). You may want to consider starting out building an...
