    Western Diesel Gauges

Where can I find some western diesel gauges. I saw them installed on some guy's truck, and I thought they looked awesome.

    xhaust question!

Lose the cat. I don't know why you lost 4 turbos, but it was not because of the intake and exhaust.

getting a free fuel filter, good and bad I guess

The junk was on the outside of the filter. Fuel for the injectors is drawn from inside the filter. Don't worry about the nastiness, just check the fuel bowl when you change filters and clean it if it is dirty.:thumbs

Fuel heater and filter cap woes

I have heard that the SuperDuty fuel heater will work, and is a much better design. The element is bolted down so that it cannot come loose and short out. Do a search, and I bet you will find a p/n and directions. I think it is a plug n play deal, though.

Fuel heater and filter cap woes

Is it a wire looking element ike the 94.5-97? If so, then you need to reattatch it, or remove it. It can short out on the fuel bowl and blow the #22 fuse causing a no start condition.

Blackstone UOA Shows Fuel in Oil

How hard are o-rings to replace? Just pull the vc's, pull the injector out and replace the rings? Thanks for your knowledgeable replies!:sweet There has never been any fuel n the oil before, and we have sent many oil samples to Blackstone. There has not been any more idling than normal, letting...

Blackstone UOA Shows Fuel in Oil

They said that fuel is not considered a problem until it reaches 2%.

Blackstone UOA Shows Fuel in Oil

My dad just got his latest UOA back from Blackstone, and it shows 1% fuel in the oil. OCI is 6,000 miles Shell Rotella 15-W40, and the truck has ~80,000 miles on it. Any ideas about why the fuel would be there, but has never been there before?

    6.4l TT PICTURE......

I have no idea, and a quick Google search did not turn anything up. Maybe a fuel cooler? I don't know why that is necessary, though:confused:

According to Ford's website it has a "diesel radiator." Could that 5'th cap be a coolant cap for the "diesel radiator?"

    94.5 Idler Pulleys

I need part numbers for the bearings, or both idler pulleys for my friends 94.5 PSD. All NAPA lists on their website are 8 rib pulleys, and $15 bearings(someone said they could be had for ~$5). I need the 7 rib pulleys. Thanks for the input!

    Anyone use this?

I use the Sport-Comp's in my Lightning, and I like them. The only problem is that they fog up when the humidity get up there.

    Which Air Filter

The BHAF is the best way to go IMHO. You get a filter that, well, filters, you get better flow, due to the increased surface area and deeper pleats, you get longer service intervals, and it is easy as pie to install. I put one on a friends truck in 10 minutes. We used a piece of 4" exhaust pipe...

    black smoke?

Because that black smoke is unburned fuel. If you could burn that fuel with more boost, or more air volume from a larger turbo, you would make more power. It is easy, and relativley cheaper, to add more fuel, and black smoke, than it is to make turbo upgrades. You will still make power by...

    Gonna Install 6.0 Cooler

I have a 6.0 cooler on the way, and I have not decided how I want to plumb it. Since the trans has a fluid bypass that allows the fluid to warm before it gets sent out to the cooler I am considering eliminating the OTW cooler. I just do not see how trans fluid can be cooled below 180* when it...

    Which gauges???

Gauges are a way to quickly and accuratley monitor the operating conditions of the engine and transmission. The factory "gauges" are slow to react, give vauge readings, and are not accurate. I like to know whether I am getting 60 psi of oil pressure or 5 psi. With the factory gauge you would see...

    Which gauges???

It is a box that contains the electrical components that control the gauge. It is installed between the sending unit and the gauge. Everything connects to it: power, ground, sender, and 4-wires to the gauge.

    Which gauges???

I went ISSPRO from Diesel Manor. The gauges are great, and the customer service is super-duper!!!!!! I have the standard pillar mount pyro, trans, and boost. I added the overhead mount with coolant temp and oil psi after that. The only negative I can come up with would be finding a place to...

    egt at shutdown

I can idle for 30 minutes and the EGT will never drop below 300*, and it takes 10 minutes to get there. I usually wait until they drop below 400* and shut it down.
