    if it does end up being hub assemblies (bearings) they are easy to change yourself. if you have an early 99 the hubs are unique to that 1/2 year and you can get hubs from a 2000 but you will have to get new 2000 rotors too. the hub of the rotor is a slightly different height. but the 2000/later...

    got a new 4" MBRP

    come on now that tip adds 25 HP doesn't it? :doh: yes new GPs make all the difference. i think my starter may be a little tired but we did find 6 dead plugs. we'll see how she starts when the real cold weather hits.

    check out the General Grabber AT2. my buddy and i have both had good luck with tire on our trucks. good treadwear and good traction for a good price. i got mine $525 mounted and balanced special ordered at wal mart last year.

    when i bought the truck last year it got 17. then winter came and it dropped to 12. now the best i can get with an egg on my pedal is 13.:cussing:

    Tired of LOUD "engine" Noise!

    my money is on the torque convertor. i had the same problem. the noise goes away when the TC locks up. you hear it come back when coming to a stop when the TC unlocks. at idle it is deafening.

    squeal/chirp at high rpm

    my truck makess a squeek/squeal chirp sound at above 3000 rpm when shifting sometimes. could this be an IC hose leak? transmission shifts fine, new Ford torque convertor less than 5000 miles ago. turbo goiing bad? noise just started a couple days ago.

    i paid $13,800 for a the early '99 in my sig in july and thought i got a good deal. mine's an XLT and had 125000 miles when i bought it. rust can be an issue, mine has some on the underbody and the bottom edge of the tailgate. the gussets under the cab floor and bed are bad dirt/salt catchers...
