    Emergency tool kit

I was looking at tools at a Lowes store and saw a nice "through socket" set that looked interesting. Would eliminate needing deep sockets. Made by Kobalt. Are these a good brand?

    Emergency tool kit

Should have added- my truck is a commercial vehicle, so I already have emergency triangles, leather gloves/work gloves, extinguisher, cell phone/charger, flashlight/extra battereis, CB radio, Roadside assistance card (while under warranty). Are most of the bolts/nuts metric? Or is it SAE...

    2008 6.4 liter mileage update

That was actually my first time calculating. The truck has about 700 miles. Still too new. :)

    2008 6.4 liter mileage update

I filled up yesterday and got 12.38 mpg on my tank (hand calculated). My onboard computer gave me the same result (12.4). Nearly all the miles were in stop and go traffic in town and lots of very short trips. About 100 miles of the tank were for a trip my hometown (including a long traffic...

    Emergency tool kit

I have a 2008 F350 (6.5 P/S). I want to buy a small tool kit to keep on the truck in case of small emergencies. What tools would you buy? What are the must have size wrenches/sockets and screwdrivers, etc I need? I don't want to have to buy a huge set of sockets and wrenches when all I may...

    working on the 6.4

No problem- I thought about the 6.4 forum, but I kinda wondered if it may be like that for just the 6.4, or were the other diesels the same way. When you guys say "cab off" do you mean there are times where the cab is actually yanked off? Wow!

Question Converting Work truck lights to regular lights '08 350

Thanks, since this is a work truck, I'll save my money for getting towing mirrors and lighting upgrades geared towards better functionality over cosmetic-- but I agree the HD lights looks far better than the worn out look of the sealed beams. David

    working on the 6.4

Hi, I love doing my own general maintenance, and from what I can tell doing all of the required items looks to be a breeze. Beyond that, it seems like a nightmare to work on this engine. When I opened the hood I was amazed at how little engine I could see, everything seems packed in...

Question Converting Work truck lights to regular lights '08 350

forgot to ask you if there is a noticeable difference in the lighting performance...or is the conversion mostly cosmetic?

Question Converting Work truck lights to regular lights '08 350

Ah OK. missed that one. The lighting of the regular lights is not too bad, but is there some actual drop-in headlights that I could use that would suffice instead of the ford upgrade lighting? does Hella or Cibie make anything?

    08 harley headlights installed

Is there a better light pattern with the upgraded headlights? Or is it merely cosmetic? I'm looking at doing this too, or I may find a Hella or Cibie headlight to drop in David

    Hella, Cibie, etc lighting

Does Hella or Cibie make any drop lighting for 2008 F350 ? I have the standard light package and was wondering about going this route rather than finding the "harley" style or upgraded headlights.

    first business venture, first truck

Thanks and yes working in oil and gas service industry is great. Lots of good people in this field- especially if you're into trucks :) Thanks for the advice. If I look for the TT mirrors through salvage yards, can they be found on prior year Super dutys? The trucks I test drove had them...

    mileage info

I'd like to add that mileage rates may also depend on the rear end setup. I have a 4.11 rear end and I'd assume it won't get better mileage than the 3.73 (?) setup. People with 4.40 should get the worst mileage, assuming all are driven the same. I drove a couple of long trips the first few...

    first business venture, first truck

I'm in Slidell right now on high ground. Shouldn't be too bad. BUT my truck is in Lafayette (of all places!) getting the bed installed. Lafayette will be in the direct path although the winds will be not much more than CAT2. It's inside a very well built building. Thanks for the tips...

    first business venture, first truck

I recently started up my first business (in the oil/gas industry) and bought my first truck- an F350 dually crew cab. It's a 2008 model with the 6.4L diesel, automatic. I bought it without the bed and at the moment a flatbed is being made for it. I'm very happy with the truck so far, it's my...
