    well in the jeep/toyota etc 4x4 world it's a common thing to trim some off the factory bump stops. 1/2"-1" usually. Wondering why on a stock setup you couldn't trim 3/4" off and still be ok... as long as your tires don't smash your fenders. Suspension wise... anything bind up? I'm going to look...

    not in my case. my MPG's went up about 5mpg (back to normal) and the wife noticed how quiet it ran. little bit beyond wishful thinking. but the shot oil might of been to blame too.

    yeah, I'd say right around the 4K my MPG's went out the window.... literally. But at the time I didn't know why. so as of right now... about 4k is the farthest I've been able to get the oil to go. Interested to see how the 5-40 holds up.

    Needed it is. I had a 2.5" spacer kit on my 07. Drove like a turd. the axle was pulled over on one side and I had bump steer like a mofo. took that crack-head modification off.

    The only gains would be during cold starts and the first few miles. I had 15-40 in a 4cyl Malibu this past summer and then switched back to 5-30 and noticed a considerable MPG gain. but once warmed up, you're right no difference should be exptected.

    As much as I like the no step bar look... they are functional, and came with the Lariat chrome package, so I'd hate to rid them. So the logical thing for me was make them look good (un-old manish). Get some pics tomorrow.

    Finally did it. Raised them exactly 2". It's perfect. any more wouldn't work/look right and any less might as well stay stock. They're still functional, just not hanging down asking to get messed up off-road. Personally I think they should of come from the factory like this. I've been eyeing...
