    1st time using B20

Here is a partial list of potential issues when using biodiesel (referred to generally as "FAME" in this document). This list is from a joint manufacturers' statement put out by Delphi, Stanadyne, Bosch, Siemens and Denso that states their position regarding biodiesel usage in their fuel...

    1st time using B20

Platinum, whatever happened? I just found the B20 near me and was thinking of trying it but not sure if I should cut it down or not. Anyone else been running B20 over an extended period of time?

    Oil filter of choice?

Arvin Meritor sold Purolator to Bosch and Mann. Aren't those cartridge filters? Racor makes the Motorcraft and Fram elements for the 6.0.

Blackstone: 62k & all is well

My fuel % moves all over the board from zero to 2.5%. I think it just depends on time of year and the ratio of city/highway driving. What was your viscosity at? In my engine the Motorcraft 15w40 I use shears down to 65 SUS or lower by 3000 miles.

    Dual Alternators

Definitely cheaper/better to upgrade to a HO single alt if you need more amps. Can't be easier than factory install, though.:) I didn't order mine, just bought it off the lot.

    Dual Alternators

I have dual alts on mine. Option 63T for $335 (msrp). The upper is rated 140 amps and the lower is rated 120 amps. Typical output is closer to 90/80 amps. The PCM controls alternator selection. You can see the "crushed" IC tube here (lower alt is hidden):

DOn't move to Phoenix. I think they do it there, too.

egr valve is anybody having problems

I believe it will also throw an "insufficient flow" code (P0401). In my county, the emissions testing stations now plug into the OBD jack on newer vehicles, including diesels. I wonder if the P0401 code would pass. :dunno

egr valve is anybody having problems

For what it's worth, the most recent flash I got (4U7A-BFE) supposedly changes the EGR strategy so that it's closed more at idle. A tech told me this is to keep it from getting carboned up so quick. This flash seems to make my truck run better, also.

    Oil for 6.0

Good move. If you've taken it as far as you can go at your dealer, I would also send a letter to Ford Customer Service informing them that you were not able to resolve your concern at the dealership level because your dealership appears to own stock in Chevron. Ford Motor Company Customer...

I have the stock filter and still had EGR issues (P0404). Got a new one at 5000 miles.

Yeah, the one I saw was loaded up too. I think the Amarillo option is only about $1600 or so, so unless Ford only offers it in certain configs, I suppose you could get one for less if you really want a blaze yellow truck. :)

I picked up my truck from the dealer yesterday (had recall done) and they had one on the lot, loaded. It was definitely impressive. Gotta love yellow, though, and have plenty of $$$$. MSRP on this one was $56k. :cowboy:
