    Well the morning temp was 43, plugged in, 2 light cycles of the glow plugs and it is better but nowhere near as good as it was 6 weeks ago. i am going with the low quality fuel direction as everything else checks good. thanks for the help and i will give an update after i fuel and run it.

    Morning update: 27 degrees, plugged in all night, glow plugs through 1 cycle. the crank time does not seem any shorter but no smoke on start up. i will start plugging in during the cold, but what would be causing the extended crank times i am experiencing? this is something new in the last month.

    09 F350/450 vs 2000 F650

    this is not true atleast for private RV's, with all the people with rv's/bus conversions with air brakes that tow big trailers are not required to have a cdl. I have a CDL B, the max i can tow commercialy is 10000. but when i tow my 12000 lb fifth wheel i am legal as a private vehicle.

    "I plan on getting a Toyhauler RV so i will be towing with it" Isn't the bed a little to high for towing a fifth wheel trailer? The new 450 with a pick up body can gross @24000. more than enough tow capcity for what you are doing.

    i do understand that but if the trailer and cargo are at max of 7000 and the coupler has a max of 5000 i see a problem.
