Sure sounds like low oil pressure to me. If it were me I would get the HPOP pressure checked or get an Autoenginuity(what I use). I have never checked it to be sure but you should see higher pressure when the oil is cold. If it idles cold after getting it running I would say that is another...- dachshund

I think you may be on to something with the HPOP or IPR. If I remember correctly, the ECM needs to see 500 psi of oil pressure before it will fire the injectors. Sounds like the starting fluid gets the engine started and spinning faster so the pressure comes up and the injectors kick in. Can you...- dachshund

Help Needed E350 rear caliper rebuild. Parts help.
Can't find a rebuild kit for the rear calipers on Van in Signature. The listings say the bore is 2.2" or something and mine are closer to 44mm/1.3/4". Parts stores are no help either as they have the same incorrect info. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks, Stephen.- dachshund

Cutting the joint is a good idea. Never crossed my mind to do that. Hopefully I can store that away in my mind and retrieve it the next time I have a tough one. I've always did the very tight Vise Grip thing. The down side to that is it damages the teeth on the jaws a bit.- dachshund

found problem but need help diagnose GLOW PLUGS PROBLEM
Short answer, #2 and #4 glow plugs are being reported a bad. Only a cali truck will the PCM even see a problem with the glow plug circuit. Where we have a simple relay you have a module that does the same thing as the relay but reports each individual glow plug that does not draw at least 20...- dachshund

Sounds like you have a California truck if it is reporting glow plugs. Are your codes PO672 and PO674?- dachshund

Tex, I'm 99% sure your problem is your injectors are wore out. I had very similar problems. I had a #8 miss on a cold start even with a warm ambient temperature and it wouldn't start firing for about 8 miles of driving at 55mph or 15-20 minutes of idling. Question 1998 E350 Won't Start
How much oil did you put in? Did you ad oil after it quit and is it now full? If it is now full, you will need to crank the engine over for quite awhile. Crank it for 20 or 30 seconds at a time and give it a couple of minutes between cranks to let the starter cool down.- dachshund
