Auxiliary fuel tank in bed of 2016 F350 SWB

That is exactly the setup I used (Freedom Fill kit, aux gauge, etc) but used a 100g used steel tank from member Tailgunner...ATTA was good about making sure it worked right, and reflashed their unit when it was acting odd. Comes on at about 1/2 full, off around 3/4, cycles automatically. I...

    Hard steering

yeah...my '02 is getting harder to turn as the years go by but it still can turn 'lock to lock' standing still. I don't know if the pump is same in a gasser, probably not, according to a quick remanned Motocraft parts number check on RockAuto.com between V10 and 7.3 in 2002.

    HELP MOONROOF DRAINS

I once poured a bit of water on one of our cars that had a similar problem, and watched carefully where the water went -- or seemed it ought to go -- and then I used a thin bit of fencing wire to push through the accumulated crud. Dave's compressed gas idea is much better as long as the channel...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Replaced 2 hood gas shocks/struts. Wow...the originals from 2002 were hanging by a thread...Didn't know how bad it was until I pulled the first one off and about got the guillotine.

    Front Swaybar Bushings

According to what I could find in my emails, I ordered the sway bar bushing set, for $34, back in 2010. I thought there was more but cannot find it. Anyhow, on the Energy Suspension website, you can specify your model year. For your model year, I see a sway bar bushing set, a track bar bushing...

    Rear End (of F250) question

Hello...am (just) looking at 2017 F250 models. My current dream truck has a retail of just under $76k (hey, I did say "dream"). Question, on the rear end, they have 2 options: 1. 3.55 Electronic Locking Axle Ratio 2. 3.55 Non-Limited Slip Axle Ratio What does it mean? Which is preferred for...

    Front Swaybar Bushings

I used Energy Suspension a LONG time ago, have only good things to say about them. Over 100k on the replacements, no significant wear yet. Knock on wood...

Auxiliary fuel tank in bed of 2016 F350 SWB

I got a 100-gallon tank off another SDD member here, and plumbed it in with this: http://www.attatank.com/pages/Freedom-Fill-Auxiliary-System.html I had to cut the back 2 corners down a bit, reweld, seal it all up, put an extra check valve and a return line in per the instructions. It is...

    Engine and Trans Recommendations

That's some real bling you got hanging on that thing. Just when I was thinking my '02 was getting long in the tooth! Fuel pressure, iirc, 55 psi -- I'm running 75 psi. Coolant (allegedly by thermostat suppliers), 195F, I'm running 203F Turbo boost, iirc, 28 psi -- I set my wastegate controller...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Big Joe, soap and water? My AFE filter "requires" the cleaning solution then the oil. That sounds tempting...

    Question Cruise Control

I guess it's the switch button for on/off in the steering wheel...all lights/bulbs are fine. It just started to work again by itself last week while on the road.

    Question Cruise Control

Cruise control stopped working recently. I cannot see anything in the fuse/relay/breaker table in the owner's manual for this. Speedometer seems fine which means speed sensor on rear differential is probably ok? Entire instrument cluster works fine. One little gremlin that may/not be related: *...

    4r100 rebuild myself?

that's around what I paid 2 years ago including a new standard TC...maybe i paid a tad less.

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Got the Denso "knock off" $103 Amazon starter installed today. Holy cow it turns fast. I'm wondering if it's too fast. Old starter failure...2 of 3 mount bolts in place, each backed off 1/8" or so...No wonder it croaked! 210k....can't complain.

    Question '01 SD 7.3 for '96 7.3 CCSB

If you can get cash on the trade...why not? He's gotta get his rig into a garage, that's worth something. But really a trannie rebuild is not a big deal unless you really need the ATS/BDS bling. The oil burning, well that's a real issue indeed. If you make the swap, I'd ditch the lights...

    02 7.3 Hard Start

Well...starter died a slow and noisy death over the past couple weeks. DB replacement on the way. Hope the weather is warm when it arrives cuz it's out in the drive...and I hope that the "fitting" to install it is really minor... thanks for the tip!

    Overtemp and PO732 Code

...and a 2nd opinion on the $$ cost of the tranny work. $3500 is over double what I paid for a new TC plus whatever else I don't recall, at around 190k +/-. Your $3500 must be the top of the shelf.

    02 7.3 Hard Start

seems to be a tad o confusion here... let me clarify.... Illinois stations sell B5-B20 without any more info than that. I don't know who to blame, might as well be Obama for all I care. Or the Department of Agriculture here, or some jackass in Chicago. Regardless, lots of unhappy oilburners...

    02 7.3 Hard Start

yeah i'm in agreement. Makes me wonder what the fancy desulfating charger is up to that I normally use. For sure, those batteries were "topped off" from the 200A beast. I guess the point is, battery chargers don't necessarily always...charge completely? I tried a bigger alternator and it...

    02 7.3 Hard Start

One thing I noticed very recently, opened my eyes a bit, regarding batteries: A week ago I was "up north" (for me) in northern Minnesota, checking on my parents and it got down to around -22 to - 26 for several nights after it was in the teens earlier as I drove up there. Much of my remaining...

    02 7.3 Hard Start

Over the years I've had your same concern, but still have original starter and every time I get concerned enough to check the glow plugs are still ok. Just batteries, fully charged, seems to make a difference. Oh...and I use that block heater whenever I can below 20-30F or so. Really cold, like...

    Help Needed Belt Dressing Issues

The clacking noise is probably tensioner pulley bearing, or an idler pulley, or all. If and when you replace the belt, replace all of them that are not lined up. Yes, it's more expensive than just a belt, but a new tight belt will drive the bad stuff further out of alignment and toast the...

    Aux Idle Controller

Thanks Joe. I'll remove the switch and see if it is mangled or something. Already tried wiggling it, and the plug and play adapter on the AIC...so maybe Santa will send me a $12 part next week.

    Aux Idle Controller

In this weather, I like to jack my idle rpm up if I'm just hopping in/out and so maybe 7 or 8 years ago I put an ambulance Aux Idle Controller on my truck, got it from eBay and it was plug and play for maybe $125. You press a button for either a set rpm or for a 'charge protect' and off it goes...
