Short answer is 'cuz it's colder, so it causes condensation quicker. But why is it colder? Maybe it's the closest run from the evaporator, and the other vents have extra length to warm up above the dewpoint temperature. But that is just a guess!- RSG

99 question
I agree with Joe! Here is a picture I took during install, the barb fitting for the outlet from the filter goes back into the degas tank (it tee's into the original line). The barb fitting toward the rear of the filter is the supply coming from the water pump jacket. I don't have a good...- RSG

Headlight replacement?
Well...I got it out. The socket idea worked on the bottom outside connector, but the two on top are a pain. I found that a sharp awl pressed into the front slot on one side (only one side has the slot) of each clip helped to expand it away from the nut, but still ended up bending them both a bit...- RSG

Headlight replacement?
Ok, here is what the removed clips look like, and the clip on one of the headlamp connectors. I cannot remember what I did last time to get them off w/o busting them. Any tips? :dunno The one to the inside top is pretty reduced clearance to get at those side tabs. I guess I need to pry each...- RSG

Morse code coming from the dash!
I noted the same noises after disconnecting batteries this weekend, when I went to start it afterwards the first time. There was a substantial clicking and whirring. If for sure was the CD unit; I had 1 CD in the 6 CD changer and it must sequence through and count 'em all up. It DID sound a bit...- RSG

f100- that's good to know! I remembered tonight that we have a '2000 7.3 IDI with a little turbo on it at work. It is under cover but slowly rusting away. Sure 'nuf, it appears to have those bolts so I think I'll scavenge a couple from there. Sort of nice to see the back side of the engine in...- RSG

Headlight replacement?
Any tips for how to change my headlight ('02) and where to buy one? I googled a get lots of different sets...ranging from $75 on up. Any sponsors I should look at?? My passenger side light reflectors are screwed up from a bulb (HID) popping loose and arcing some stuff all over the surface.- RSG

changing the oil in a diesel?
Check out your service and user manuals, they're informative. But, your 7.3L takes 15 quarts of oil. If you don't drive it hard, 5k is the interval. You might consider an oil analysis since it is new to you (from Blackstone Labs, Ft Wayne IN for example) just to establish a baseline of engine...- RSG

Yes...if you follow the link in my earlier post, it explains that fuse 45 was blown (that's why the gauges were also out)...and I found a chafed cable in the steering column going to the overdrive switch. 3 wires in a cable, 1 bsted.- RSG

I had a similar symptom: http://www.superdutydiesel.com/forums/general-super-duty-discussion/21872-fuse-45-keeps-blowing.html. The trick was finding the cause of fuse 45 blowing, and that is typically NOT caused by the go-peddle croaking. For my '02, it turned out to NOT be the throttle...- RSG

1. there is a part list on this forum, and it has that hose part #. I put it on (see #2) and I have to say there is VERY LIMITED clearance between it and the belt. 2. Update - :D Thanks guys for your input. I can report that it was definitely a problem of me not squashing the 3 wires into the gauge connectors. I pulled each and slowly worked on 'em with a odd ball little aluminum block "thingy" that came with the ESP. Don't know if that was what it was for...- RSG

Help Needed Fuse 45 keeps blowing
Dennis, it is in the General area, and is a sticky. I figured out this problem (thanks for your help!) and posted the stuff under "Throttle Position Sensor" in the 99-03 7.3L section. It is pretty slick!!! Incidentally, the problem *was* a chafed wire, one of 3 for the OD switch. Removed it all...- RSG
