    Ford Reman Alternator

A few months ago, my alternator on my 7.3 F350 went south. I purchased a remain from the Ford dealer so far so good. I'm hoping the Ford remain was a good choice. I didn't have the time to find a rebuild shop that day. blueoneton

    Oil Pan Rust

Luckily mine never leaked, I just wanted to be proactive. glad your friends repair worked out. The reason I went with the Ford product PM13A is it withstands high temps.

    Fuel Quality

Thanks Crumm, I will keep that in mind next time around. I ended up going with the factory size tire again. Will the larger tires like yours be harder on the front end? My truck although a 4x4 F350 is stock. I live in Maryland, not as cold as your neck of the woods but we do get some cold...

    Fuel Quality

Wow, very low miles on a 1996, like I said truck looks good. I like the tires you have. I'm not sure if the tires you have will work on my 2002 F350 4x4 factory rims?

    Oil Pan Rust

No problem Dave. Honestly, I found this issue by accident reading TSB's.

    Oil Pan Rust

The TSB recommended to use a de-gresser to clean the pan then use #36 grit with a grinder, then wipe the pan again before applying the PM13A. I did the following instead (my choice) Took a wire wheel attached to my drill going over the rust spots knocking off most of the rust. Wiped pan...

    Oil Pan Rust

Recently, I saw the TSB on the oil pan rust corrision problems with the Powerstroke oil pans. Of course my 2002 was starting to display signs of rusting. I have also read in order to replace the oil pan you must remove the engine and let oil pan seal cure for 24 hours. Well, I see Ford...

    Pillar Gauges

Thanks for the feedback guys. I do not feel comfortable doing this myself (mainly the drilling/tapping) I will find a good diesel shop one of these days to do the installation after I get the gauges (Boost, Pyro, Volt, Trans Temp) blueoneton

    Shell Rotella 15w40

bushpilot Thanks for the feedback. No complaints with the Rotella, truck not complaining either. The reason I say that is because I've read some other Powerstroke owners didn't like the Rotella. blueoneton

    Shell Rotella 15w40

WD40 Thanks for the reply, I had a hard time choosing a decent dino 15w40 so I went with Rotella since many diesel owners use it and it is easy to find. Of course I stick with the MC #1995 oil filter changing them every 6 months or 5000 miles. I think good maintance is important. Just...

    Cetane Posts on Diesel Pumps

Although I make it a point to fuel up at busy diesel locations to get the freshest fuel possible, I would like to see the day diesel stations nationwide post thier cetane numbers on the pumps like gas stations due. I have always heard most diesel is 40-45 cetane and some can be as high as 50...
