    I have the factory installed hitch option. 24k fifth wheel and the gooseneck ball. If your truck came with the rails, it's the way to go. Otherwise I prefer the B&W setup.

    Yup. Also you normally don't get steaming exhaust/ hydrolock with HG failure. I believe you can pull the EGR valve and tip the truck forward to check for a leaking cooler.

    Sounds more like EGR cooler for sure. You can remove the glow plugs and turn engine over (BY HAND at first) to relieve the hydrolock. As long as it turns over fine, I'd put an EGR cooler delete in and run again.

    You can read FICM voltage with AutoEnginuity. It's one of the parameters you can monitor. Can't remember exactly what it was called, been over a year since I checked one :D
