    i cant tell a bit of difference with the cover on either. i ran mine without the pre-filter cover for about a month. i feels and sounds the same either way, Awesome!! BTW, if you do run it with the pre-filter cover, how often do you need to replace the 6637 under normal driving conditions?

    I did mine with the truck off, stepped by three or four bits, threaded it and vaccumed out the hole. a good word of advice i got was to wear eye protection!!! and glad i did too!

    You make some valid points emptydub. Id like to see where this stuff stands on list from the additive survey that was done on the dieselplace.com. And daveben, i would never put this stuff in my tank until i saw some reliable test. Ill stick with my supertech 2-stroke oil for now.

    i pulled mine before i knew they had Ford DIN tools. i took two pieces of a coat hanger and bent them to look almost identcal to the DIN tools. i had a time pulling mine out as well. IHC power is right on the clips hangin up on the dash trim. you kinda have to man handle it.

    Wow!! I knew the 7.3's are known for being one hell of a motor, but damn. 759,000 miles is crazy!!! Especially since you never replaced anything major. That makes me want to take even better care of my rig! P.S. I think id hold onto the old one just to see if you can run it over a million.
