    Question '01 SD 7.3 for '96 7.3 CCSB

Go look at the OBS and you will see more things that you need to spend money on. I have had trucks since I was just a little older than you and I know you want EVERYTHING now. Common sense says to spend the money up front and be done with it. IF you are looking for a project, then you can...

    Question Paint

Sand it with 220 sanding discs and a DA (Duel Action) Sander. Go over the entire hood and look for very small scratches and dimples. Fill them and shoot primer ion each stop. Sand again and shoot color. I am not a body man, but I learned from a great one. RIP Mark.

    02 7.3 Hard Start

Good questions. When batteries are cold they loose some capacity and generally start slower than normal. What brand of batteries do you have?

    2004 6.0L PS bad idea?

I have the same engine in my F-350 and I have 134,000 miles in it. It is stock and I have done all of the maintenance. I have had a few minor problems like a fuel injector needing to be replaced and the FICM (Fuel Injection Control Module) dyeing. The major problems with these engines are...

    Overheating

Both oil and coolant are mixing... That is very strange, as oil is under a lot more pressure than coolant. You said that you filled with coolant and you were getting coolant out of the pan? May need to remove the heads and check for a cracked head or cylinder. I am out of ideas at this point.

    Overheating

Oil cooler is leaking water to oil and the other way around.

    2000 7.3 TS chips problems

Ford does not release much on the ECM flashes. Every time I have had an "improvement" installed by Ford, it hurts the power. If you are happy the way it is, do not let Ford reflash your ECM.

    02 7.3 Hard Start

Check your glow plugs with an ohm meter. ground one cable and touch the other cable to each glow plug tip. you should see something like 1 - 10 ohms if they are good. ~ (infinity) means bad.

Go to the Chip manufacture and look for the specs and programs. See if they have a match for what you want. If not email them or call. Good luck! :)

    RIMS

No they have to have a lot of off set. The first goes on "backwards" and the second wheel goes on normal. The two tires must not touch or they will wear a hole in one or the other. SO there is something like 3/8 inch between the tires for spacing. They must be dually wheels or they won't fit.

    Winter is here

Many of you may be having 'hard start' or 'no start' problems with your trucks. #1 cause is the batteries and #2 is the glow plugs and controller. Amazon has several glow plug controllers...

    2001 7.3L gremlins.

You need to check and clean the battery cables and ground cables. Make sure ALL of the large cables are CLEAN and what they attach to is clean. Corroded cables are the number 1 cause of no start problems and they all crop up this time if the year - it is COLD and your truck needs every...

Question Fuel Heater Coolant Hose Replacement

You can't shape heater hoses. Just run it so it is smooth and no unnecessary turns or kinks. A smooth 1/4 circle might do it for you.

    6.4 engine seized.

You have a rod that is bent and is binding. The 1/4 turn is my clue. As Joe said "Not good."
