Thanks 79jasper. I am not good with the newest 7.3s. I have never seen the IDM. But I do know (now) the chip goes into the PCM.

I don't know much about 7.3 dtc faults. THis one could be the IDM is failing (IDM=Injector Drive Module) it is located behind the driver side battery. I do think you need to install your programmer to see if that may be your problem. Your chip probably plugs into the IDM. Good Luck in your hunt.

That is the batteries I wanted to put into my truck, but they are not sold here in town. The closest Sears that handles them is an hour away.

Like the filters, I use Motorcraft batteries. I used to like Sears batteries, but I can't buy them here in town.

I would take it back to who ever changed your oil and MAKE them PAY! They screwed up your NEW truck.

I would start looking at the cables and GROUNDS. Make sure they are tight and clean. Battery cables cause us a lot of problems if they are not looked after. I am assuming by no crank that you literally mean NO CRANKING - NOTHING. Do you hear the starter relay click when you turn the key...

I was just reading about Obama's latest mileage proposals. He is calling for automakers to have a mileage of cars, that is at least 54.5 mpg by something like 2054.

The poor mileage is probably due the all of the smog stuff that the new truck has that you don't. Like the Exhaust filters, etc...

No, rumor has it that Ford can tell if you used a tuner or a chip. You just spent a lot of money and you need the warranty, given the cost of repairs. I would leave it stock until your warranty is up. I did and I still do not have any performance enhancing mods. The choice is yours. Dave

I have no knowledge of the 6.7 so I can't answer your comment. Different engines require different programming. Dave

They will update the software while you are there. Ford did mine on a recall and the 'new' software limited my boost to 30# when I had gotten 35# before. I have never gone back for anything that will 'update' my software. Dave

As you stated turbos go south very quickly. I am with 01yellerCobra on this one; belt or tensioner. Dave
