Do you have posi trac rear end? My guess is you do. They have caused shudder when startling out with a load. Nothing to worry about.

Look at the rear end for a tag that has a code for the ratio. Tell us what is is and we can tell you the ratio.

Are you referring to the Pan Drain PLUG? it is not a bolt but should be a pipe thread.

I am still driving my 2004 F-350 with 6.0 and auto. Love it. Maintenance is the key.

I went to the U of A (Tucson) in the 60's and 70's and I know how you feel about the desert. I lived in SoCal for 15 years before moving up to NorCal (Bay Area). I retired and moved up to Ukiah. I love this area.

No don't take apart the GEM. Less than 1 amp is the computer and memory drawing power for sleeping (off). This is normal.

4 amps will kill your batteries until you find out what is pulling the current. The Glow Plug Controller might be doing it, or the stereo or??? Does it always pull 4 amps? More or Less?

4 amps is a good draw. Now you need to trace where that power is going. Is it the GPC pulling the power?

FICM could be going bad. Scan your truck and tell us what codes come up. Mine did the hard state and then died. Your time might be short.

You are right snicklas, the HPOP only makes oil pressure. It is the oil pressure that pressurizes the injectors, correct?

That fuel pressure if from the tank to the HPOP (High Pressure Oil Pump). The HPOP ups the fuel pressure to something like 3000 (three thousand) PSI or more, to the injectors. It sounds like you are GTG if the truck runs good.

The first truck I bought was a 1972 F-250 with a 4 Spd and power steering. No AC or power anything. I was shocked when I saw the Out-the-Door price of $4,040.00 and 46 years later they are going for $100,000!
