Truck surges on startup from cold, fine after running a few minutes

These engines are known to surge when cold starting. This is due to the oil, 15W 40 is what the factory puts in. I changed to 5W 40 and the surging went away. I have never heard of the alternator causing surging.

    Need wiring help

You can use the wiring on the tow plug (4 wire or 7 wire) to get to the brake lights but these have blinkers tied into them. The third brake light in NOT in the tow wiring, as I recall.

2015 6.7 ticking noise right side

What are they telling you? Are you getting anything for your non-use of your truck? When do they think it will be put back together? I am stating nothing specific to the 6.7, just want to know more relevant information. :)

Question 6.0 whistle/whine with white smoke at startup

The other thing about forums, is that you tell the complete store. "I got codes X0001 & X00013". All codes mean something and maybe a clue to what is going on with your truck, so tell us all of the codes you get.

    Bearing question

Bearing ware is no more a problem with the 6.0 than any other engine. Head gasket failure was the number 1 problem and I see you are going to be doing head studs. This should NOT be a problem after the head studs. I have not chipped my truck and it is running great, for a stocker. I have...

Fire near Our town of Ukiah, CA

No, the fire(s) are at least ten miles or more. Winds are blowing smoke away from Ukiah. So of this afternoon, the fire has not consumed any more acreage and is almost under control. My info is from our local newspaper and the Sheriff's office on FaceBook.

Fire near Our town of Ukiah, CA

Sunday afternoon about 2;30 pm I saw smoke in the skys north of us. It turns out that a car had caught fire along the Willits Grade, north of Ukiah about 10 miles. The car quickly set the dry grass on fire and it quickly escalated to 900 acres by dark last night. I know there are at least 15...

    Question injector change no start

You have to have good batteries to get enough current to spin the engine over at a good rate or it will not start. Make sure you have good batteries that are fully charged and then try it again. I am not sure how many rpms you need to get it to fire. My 6.0 needs 500 rpms to start. :dunno

    Correct tire pressure

Run what the tire manufacture recommends for your weight 110 psi cold. Going up in elevation does not change the tire pressure. If you are overloaded, it is up to you.
