    Trans leaking need advice!

Thanks for the help guys. I checked the level and it was a quart low so I filled it back up and have been keeping an eye on it. I haven't had any problems since. :dunno Would it make since that it was the torque converter overheating since it did happen when I was beating on the truck and was...

    Trans leaking need advice!

I'll start off by saying that I generally do my own maintenance, but right now I am 1500 miles from home in North Houston, Tx in an apartment with zero tools and management that will have a cow if I even open the hood. When I bought my truck (early '99 automatic) I noticed that it would leak...

    Hub unit bearing grinding!!

I already got the early hub... I was aware of the differences and was going to swap both sides to the new version until I scored an early model timken bearing for $200. I know a lot of guys have said they paid $400 plus, but I've found many for well under $300. Amazon is your friend!

    Hub unit bearing grinding!!

I had the tire wear diagnosed to the unit bearing. I have it apart right now and it appears that the inner surface of the unit was grinding on the axle hub seal. The question I have is; Is this because the unit bearing was bad and allowing movement? Or is this something unrelated that needs to...

    comment Snow Leopard

Love my imac and everything I have from apple. Snow leopard is definitely an awesome os and iirc it takes up a bit less space than the previous os.

    Wheel bearing or locking hub?

I see. You guys have been really helpful. Does anyone happen to know the part number for the axle seal that goes on the stub shaft in the knuckle? I've also been thinking(this could be dangerous) I think this seal might have caused part of the hub bearing problem. When I did my ball joints...

    Wheel bearing or locking hub?

Thanks for the info. I usually am a fan of the oem parts as well, but I wanted to see what everyone else thought. Quick question though: Is the needle bearing replacement that you describe the actual wheel bearing that most say can only be replaced as the entire unit?

    Wheel bearing or locking hub?

Sweet deal! Any suggestions on replacement brands? I've heard some of the ebay specials are the same as an auto parts store.

    Wheel bearing or locking hub?

I noticed recently that my front passenger side tire was being chopped up on the inside. I checked to see if it was physically rubbing anything(nope), then I checked all the tierod ends(nope), so I pushed and pulled on the tire to see if I had any movement(yes), I noticed that it was not the...

    DP tuner questions

Sorry for not stating it up front, but it is an f5. I know what the sequence is to put it into no start mode, but the problem is that it starts. Actually I think that he has my high idle tune in that position because that is what it does when it starts in position zero. I managed to pull the...

    DP tuner questions

Kind of in a funk right now. I am having some issues with my dp tuner. While I'm waiting for them to get back in touch with me I was wondering if anybody has experienced similar problems. The positions are supposed to be: 0-no start, 1-stock, 2-high idle, 3-80econo, 4-140 agressive. What...

This is going to be nice?

If you're worried about oil and ccv vapors being around your children then I would keep them off of the local school bus. International in particular used an open atmosphere ccv on busses up until recently. As I stated earlier; this system which will disable the truck in some way will...

This is going to be nice?

This one seems like it will be pretty easy to defeat... They say that the truck will still run but with reduced power if the tank is empty. I'd be willing to bet that the aftermarket will have a fooler of some sort (to keep it out of limp mode) before the first truck rolls out of a dealership...

    HID/Projector headlight replacements?

I just purchased the 05-07 harley lights from certi-fit. They are brand new and are made by Depo, who by all accounts are a quality company. I paid $62 per unit and they come with new bulbs in them. If they fog on me I will simply drill a few small holes in the bottom of the light to keep that...

    HID/Projector headlight replacements?

I'm thinking of doing the swap myself and I'm collecting information right now. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but this is what I got so far. The 07 lights (Harley or regular) will fit, but require minor trimming of the panel behind the lights. The 07 lights use a different style bulb...

    Question Oil questions

Thanks for the responses. I have a feeling that it is not the labs fault but the USPS. I think I am going the make the switch to amsoil. After looking at the prices it will be much cheaper to use the amsoil hd diesel oil and amsoil filter for $110 than the mobil delvac 1300 and motorcraft filter...

    Question Oil questions

Got a couple of questions for you guys. Has anyone had any problems in dealing with blackstone labs (probably USPS)? I have sent samples from my last two oil changes and have never gotten a test performed. Not too sure who's fault it is, but I just want to get a test done. Next question is...

    Question Single or double shocks?

Many might not agree with me, but I'll throw my $.01 out there. Brand is not really an issue; most of the popular brands are popular for a reason. Single or double? (From my experience with with off-road vehicles and several tube frame rock crawlers) Single is the only way to go. If...

    X code springs

That's what I thought. I haven't done any calculations yet, but considering the long length and horizontal angle of the track bar a 2" lift is not going to pull the axle very far from center. The reason I asked is because most of the aftermarket leveling kits that I have seen come with a drop...

    X code springs

Just as the title indicates I was thinking about using the x code springs to level out the front of my early 99 250. From my understanding I will need new(longer u bolts) and nuts. I tried searching around to see if ford used different trac bar brackets for the standard front and the plow...

    Homegrown WVO system

Sorry about that! It would probably help. It's an early 99 f-250 And after a bit more reading it seems that the kit would probably work out better and add an inline heater. One more question that I had is how exactly do you approach restaraunts for the used oil. I'm a bit on the shy...

    Homegrown WVO system

Hey guys, I've been reading up on running on WVO and I think I want to piece together a homemade system. Here is the list that I have come up with so far: - used diesel fuel tank from a boat - plantdrive.com turbofyner coolant heated 5 micron filter - plantdrive.com 6 port valve for...
