    Engine Question

    It's a 99 F350 4x4 auto, got it in September of 98. 130k miles, two sets of front ball joints, lots of brakes and rotors and such, one CPS, and one water pump. Been a fantastic truck.

    You're cringing and it isn't yours. Changed the oil last week and found big chunks of metal in the bottom of the drain pan. Don't know if it came from the truck or something else. It wouldn't have to be a new engine, it could be rebuilt, but a new shortblock would be about the easiest.

    Can you buy a new 7.3 PSD crate engine from Ford or Navistar? I don't know if I have a problem or not, but if I do, it would need to be solved with a new engine or at least a new short block.
