    Reading oil test results

As I thought, I've got a leaky fuel injector(s). My oil report came back showing 2.0 Fuel Dillution, and 11.0 for Viscosity. The tech at Shell says that shows a malfunctioning injector dumping extra fuel causing the lower viscosity by dillution. Okay I got that, but can anyone explain what the...

    Testing injectors

I'm waiting for my oil test results to see if I have a possible leaky injector. Last time I checked oil level, it looked as if it had increased. Coolant level is fine, and no noticable "milky sludge" in my test sample. I haven't done a full oil drain, yet. Is there a way to locate a faulty...

    Aftermarket brakes

I'm looking to upgrade the rotors and pads on my '07. I want to use my factory calipers ($$) with slotted and/or cross-drilled rotors. I've read that Hawk makes OEM type high performance pads. Anyone with any experience out there? :thanks

    '07 Lariat Courtesy Lights

Ford's being cheap, agian... Does anyone know if the wiring is in place for the door panel courtesy lights on my '07 Lariat Crew Cab? Can you add the socket/light and change the lense from any earlier model? My 2000 door lights worked. :thanks

    Head Bolt Torque

In an earlier thread it was suggested to check/retorque the head bolts after adding any horsepower altering device (tuners, chips, etc.) Makes sense to me. Does anyone know the torque value and suggested torque pattern for the last ('07) version of the 6.0L? :thanks

    Extreme frt. end shimmy TSB

I'm working out an extreme front end shimmy that randomly occurs after hitting a bump. You have to slow way down to recover. Didn't do it with my heavy 37" Toyos, it showed up when I put on my narrower/lighter 37" BFG ATs for winter. Its been suggested there's a TSB concerning "adjustable caster...

Recommendations for 8" lift on 99 PSD

Be aware that with 8" of lift, you'll increase bump steer dramatically. ORU makes a cross over steering system for your truck. You'll also eat drag link parts annually. Ask what the rear spring rate is. Usually Skyjacker is 10% over factory. Donahoe will recommend adding some type of...

    Rear Sway Bar Questions

IPD out of Washington(?) makes an extreme duty rear bar. They make units for BIG RVs and so on. I had one on my 2000 F250 that was lifted 8" with very little body role.

    '06-'07 lug nuts

I've answered my own question...Ford changed the thread pitch. '99-'04(?) uses 14x2mm, '05> uses 14x1.5mm. Still 14mm diameter but a finer thread.

    '06-'07 lug nuts

According to McGard, Ford has used 14mm lugs since '99. I'm trying to recycle the conical seat lugs from my 2000 F250 on my new '07 F350, but they don't fit:dunno The new lugs appear to be 14mm fine thread, they're not 9/16-18 (tried that). Anybody know what-the-h*ll they are?

    Roadmax Automotive Grills

Does anyone out there have a Roadmax Automotive (RDX) billet grill on their truck? I'm looking at one for my '07 and they're on sale :sweet (-15%) thru Performance Products. This is the chrome plated steel shell with 4mm aluminum bars. Any info would be helpful. :thanks

Tire Balancing question on custom wheels

Consider this solution... I have used Equal, not the sugar substitute, on several large tire applications. Its a powder typically used in large truck (18-wheeler) tires that balances centrifically(sp). It can be pumped in through the valve stem if the tire is mounted, or bags that break up...

    Oil filter body

Okay! Okay! As F350DRW1 said, read my signature. I'm replacing my '00 7.3 with a new '07 6 liter. I ordered it in May with an expected delivery in August, so no, I haven't actually seen my new truck yet. As I did six years ago, I use these forums to gather valuable information and insights...

    Oil filter body

Thanks Robert. If you can't tell, I've yet to actually SEE my new 6.0 liter, and the wait is killin' me. Your pics help alot. I didn't know that Ford had moved the filter to the top, only that they had gone to a replaceable core.

    Oil filter body

I've done several searches without any luck......Is there an aftermarket oil filter body for the 6.0 liter? Does the OEM unit require anything other than the typical strap wrench to remove it? I read where someone was going to try to install a drain cock on the bottom. Sounds like a...

    '06 Exhaust: Turbo- or Cat-back

Okay, I'm doin' my homework for my new '07. If most of the after-market, including MBRP, are providing 3.5" down pipes as part of their turbo-back systems (which is the same size as OEM) why go full system? There are true 4" systems out there (HOG, ATS), but I'm told they require modifications...

    2007 Super Duty

Just for the record...those pictures are of the '08 model scheduled for release in January of '07. I've ordered an '07 and it's the same as the '06 with different option packages. Ford seems to be a bit "confused" about calendar dates/years, '07s in '06, '08s in January of 2007. At this rate...

Banks PDA or Edge Juice w/ attitude

I'm considering Banks' PDA for my '07 (I already have the PDA). I like that Banks provides a complete package that's engineered to work together. I also like the "safety" factor. Don't forget to replace that exhaust if you "chip" your ECM to lower your EGTs. Very important, especially when...

    Exhaust for PSD 6.0

Check out ATS (Advanced Turbo Systems). They make a stainless 4" single and dual, turbo-back and cat-back systems. Cheaper then MBRP (I think) too. I've been running their dual turbo-back on my '00 for 5 years. Fit great, still looks good.

    '07 Update

I just ordered an '07 6.0 to replace my '00 7.3 liter. I'm planning several upgrades, but none of the aftermarket people (Banks, ATS) are sure what changes are in store. I've heard about the possibility of "particulate" sensors in the exhaust and other possible changes to reduce emissions...
