    Fuel Tank Calibration

I'm sure that this question has been posed elsewhere, but I do not know how to search for it. My fuel gage shows a 1/8 ~ 1/4 full and the "miles to empty" overhead shows as much as 100 miles. Then my 7.3 starts to lurch, buck...and I pull over and call for someone to bring some diesel fuel...

    Opaque Lens-Headlights

I lurk on this site a lot...there is a lot to learn and I find it here. My F 250 is a '99 model ordered in late June of '99. It has been good to me and I only have 174000 on the engine/body/trans. But I do have a problem with clarity of the lens on my headlights. Anyone else have this...

List your Top 5 Best Upgrade/Mods.

Why? O K...must be something here for me? :) I purchased my 7.3 in July, '99 primarily to move my Airstream Deer Camp Trailer and also for the 500,000+ miles I expected (and still do) to get from this truck (engine now has 173,200), because I wanted a vehicle to last me the full length of my...

    CheapAssDiesel Chip on eBay

I asked this on the "99+ 7.3L site...maybe shoulda been here :) This chip is advertised at $70 with a promo of better mpg. Is it any good and is it worth $70? I have 173000+ on engine and currently get 15-17.5 if I keep rpm's just under 2000. Thanks, J L Dunn

    Leak on the Driveway

Oil Leak Hope this is the forum I need... My 99 F-250 7.3 w/170,200 miles has started an oil leak. I appears to drop an area of a small dinner plate over night where ever it's parked. The leak is from the middle of the truck, and one man who looked under it (at 80 yrs young, I don't...

    Glo Plugs

I'm sure this question has been asked many times, novice that I am, but 'bout how many miles on engine, 7.3L, July, 1999, should I expect before I need to replace the glo plugs. Approximately how much do they cost? And when replaced, is that all I need to do, and just how difficult is it...

7.3L Dies even with new CPS

From this post you can obviously tell that I've a 7.3 but know from nothing. I read where you are "reading the codes". From where do you read these codes and where is the legend that tells you what the codes mean? I recently changed my CPS (Grandson did it for me) because mine was also...

    Which gauges???

If I purchase the 4 gages that Mr. Pulliam21 recommended, do I replace the factory gages or are they to be installed as I have seen them pictured on the windshield post on the driver's side? How easy/difficult is this to do yourself; or would you recommend a qualified diesel service...

    Which gauges???

Why gauges? I'm really new to diesels and know very little about them. But, that said, I have one...Ordered June, 1999 to my specs: F250 7.3L Superduty, 2WD. I bought it to have enough truck when I had to move my deer lease Airstream about. My co-worker told me that I'd need at least that...

    ye ole CPS

I found Ford OEM sensor on eBay for $55+; called several places in the Kingwood/Humble, TX area to see what it would cost to replace on my 1999 F250 7.3L Stroke. Ranges from a quote of $188 at Anderson Ford near Cleveland to $700 at Sullivan's Auto in Kingwood. What a range! My inquiries...
