    yeah, i know BTS is the best, but my truck is not worth a $4k+ transmission. i just need the trans freshened up so i can get a couple more years out of it. by then i'll be in a position to get a newer/cleaner truck.

    sloppy shift from 1st-2nd

    are you sure it's not the TC engaging? on my '99 if i jump on it, it will shift into 2nd and engage the TC...feels like a mushy shift. then 3rd and 4th are firmer.

    pinging/miss

    my early 99 has a miss when cold, and pings under accelleration until warmed up. it seems to smooth out once warm. EBPV is unplugged. truck has 162k miles. i know i need new injectors my question is is there anything else that could cause pinging? i'm also due for an oil change.
