Question Noob to PSD - Cruise Control Problems

The PCM in 96 autos has terrible torque convertor control and allows it to unlock any time you release the throttle. Chips can be burned to a different PCM code to eliminate the problem but I dont know if you edge addresses it or not.. It's easy enough to install a switch to manually lock the...

    Question '97 PSD MPG's

If his PSOM is still calibrated for stock size tires and he is running larger than stock then he is actually going farther and faster then the speedometer/odometer shows. If that's the case then the mileage would be even better. Either way I'd be real happy to get even close to that, my best...

    Question '97 PSD MPG's

Does he have a pyrometer and boost gauge? If not he might consider getting them. Both EGT's and boost are the result of adding more fuel. The lower you can keep the numbers the better the mileage will be.

    Intercooler ?'s

Question fuel guage reads way over full

That's right, so a break in the wire would cause the gauge to read past full. Pin # 5 on the fuel selector valve is a yellow wire with a white tracer, check it for continuity between the valve and the gauge.

    Fuel pressure

The fuel pressure is preset at 46 psi but a lot of guys like to bump it up to around 60 to insure that the injectors get their fill of fuel in the alloted time. There are two tranny coolers in series. First it goes through the oil to water cooler in the bottom of the radiator and then it goes...

    up pipe leaks

If you use the OEM gaskets you might want to do like Patrick suggested and take some material of the face of the clamp sections. If you ues the SB Chevy donuts they are a bit thicker and it won't be necessary. Also if you have a tailpipe expander tool it will help the gaskets seal if you expand...

Fuel pump -OR- clogged tank pickup?

Richard If you go with a permanently mounted gauge do not mount it like THIS It needs to have some fuel line between the gauge and the regulator to absorb the pulses from the pump or it will self destruct. By the time I drove to and from work (46 miles) mine was DOA when I got home.

Fuel pump -OR- clogged tank pickup?

Richard The FPR is supposed to be preset at 46 psi. You can shim it with BB or a 4-40 screw, I like the screw better because its lets you adjust the pressure to where you want it. Certainly that banjo bolt didnt strip when he was removing it, he musta crossthreaded it when he put it in the...
