Be careful of what you say!

And a follow up to this story: http://www.herald-review.com/articles/2007/03/03/news/local_news/1021539.txt SPRINGFIELD - Dave Wetzel, who drove to the state Capitol from his Decatur home in his fryer waste-propelled 1986 Volkswagen, won the hearts of lawmakers as he told of his struggle...

    Is 500ppm diesel still avaliable?

Most "Gas Stations" will not know (attendants even less) or even think about as it is all about their cost at the pump to be competative. The haulers that come out of the terminals play a big part in what is in the underground tank below the pump. Many "gas stations" may put the sticker on the...

    What about the big rigs?

Off-road diesel is exactly the same stuff only with the dye in it. My brother hauls the stuff right from the refinery which also fills the pipeline that in turn feeds the nation. I rode with him a couple of times and the only thing they have to choose from is the LSD and ULSD in regular or...

Oh where oh where do I start mods?

I agree. First you need to explain to the forums what you want the truck to do that it isn't currently doing. Then what you want it to do above and beyond the stock configuration. I would first put air bags in the back. That way when you haul the camper you can inflate them to level the...

Why do you get so much more out of a diesel?

bling821, I figured you were a nuke submariner. With the locations you listed. Fast attack I presume. I was too a long time ago in SD.

I heard livewire for under 600. We'll have to wait and see...shouldn't be too much longer, maybe by the end of the January.

1800 mile trip on 07 observations

I'll check mine at the end of next week. Going on a round trip of about 1500 miles. Some thru Southeastern mountains. Some in the flats. Pulling a 3k# bass boat and 2K# of stuff in the bed. We'll see how the cruise and mileage and coolant work out. 750 miles straight there and 750 straight back.

Kleetus, http://www.sctlivewire.com/ I'm going to wait for this...I don't have any gauges yet so my initial cost is SCT and gauges vs livewire.

    Cat or Muffler delete ?

I used the MBRP 6.0L Powerstroke Stainless Cat Delete Pipe FS9414. Aluminized is FAL414. Google for seller... many distributors will price match.

    Cat or Muffler delete ?

Look at the pix on my reply in this thread. The last one is the MBRP cat delete and it just bolts right in the stock location. 15-20 minutes and your done.

    Cat or Muffler delete ?

It's not really too bad. Quite mellow till you really get on it. Then it will bark out. The real thing is the idle...when you first start you hear the low rumble about 3-4 seconds after the turbo spools up and you here the whooshing of the turbo. Sets it apart from all the others.

    Question

It should be just to the right of the steering wheel, just below the square black panel that would have the 4x4 ESOF and backup sensor off button, to the left of the cup holder. If you have the upfitter switches it would be right next to them in the same cubby. If not it will still be there and...

DO I NEED AIC ON 6.0???

I guess the reason to use the AIC is so it will jump the rpm's up regardless of outside temp. Bama, It is the wire Bushpilot was talking about. Don't have the PTO option...the wire is on all the trucks.

DO I NEED AIC ON 6.0???

In the morning if I start the truck up with the key or by remote and let it idle for about 1-2 minutes it will increase the RPMs on its own to about 1100. Always did it from day one. When I step on the brake it drops and I'm ready to go. I also hooked the PTO wire up for the 1200 rpm idle to an...

Elite Diesel Up-Pipe, EGR Pipe Delete

Coolant will still be flowing just no exhaust flow. Unless you do the delete, coolant will always flow thru the cooler.

Elite Diesel Up-Pipe, EGR Pipe Delete

You will still have coolant circulating thru the cooler, it just will not have hot exhaust gasses running thru it to the intake. What did they use to block off the EGR cooler with? You cannot just leave it open 'cause when the egr valve opens, pressure will either go out of intake or unfiltered...

Digital Oxygen, Not really. Look on some of the other forums. Most that comment back are running ID's Extreme Street. Tadd at Elite Diesel has some good tunes also. You can Google them and get to their site pretty easy. Call and talk to them, ask them anything you feel the need to...they are...
