Hi Bigdog It sounds like possible hydro lock. This happened to me I also have a 2002 7.3 and it was my fuel injection module that went. it apparently dumped a lot of fuel into my cylinders and locked up my motor with out warning. George- rescue911g

Question Looking at an 06 F350 6.0
I love my 2006 6.0, and I believe 6.0 is the way to go. I have a 2002 7.3, 2004 6.0, 2006 6.0 The 2003 7.3 you can't kill The 2004 6.0 all problems always in the shop The 2006 6.0 with alot of toys and all fun. Only problem was head gaskets- rescue911g

changing gears for bigger tires on a diesel?
You will be fine. No problems! But you will want to change gears just becouse you won't be happy with the loss of power. Go to Ford and they will adjust your speed O for you.- rescue911g

Ford Can't deny you from the warranty if you purchased the truck used with the banks 6 gun on it from a Ford Dealer. Go Fabtech 8". I went with Fabtech 6" it took me 8.5 hours to install with basic tools. you can get 37 12.50 on with stock wheels but you may hit when you go off road and 35 13.50x18 with a 10" wide wheel. with an 8" lift you can get up to a 39" tire. and I think it will look better. SHOULD I DELETE THE CAT. OR NOT?
Removing the cat Yes remove the cat, I did and not only does it sound better and louder the truck takes off quicker. The only down fall is the turbo is louder, it sounds like a jet at first when you take off then a low tone of a big block sound rumbles you off.:thumbs good luck George- rescue911g
