I was under the impression that the belt tensioner was either tight or not. I'm almost positive that the water pump is good, no slop in the bearings. My grandpa asked the dealer he bought it from about it and guess what the answer was. The famous that's normal for a diesel engine and Ford notes...

Hey gents, I hear from a reputable source that this is the new place to come for Ford problems :sweet . My grandpa has a late '02 F250 with the 7.3 powerstroke. When towing with it the fan clutch will come on and the belt will start to squeal. If I let off the the go peddle and let the rpm's...
