Your first rides
had a 60's something Fiat Spider, floorboards were gone from the rust (lived in Minnesota) so it had a plywood floor. seats weren't attached so they would move all over when you stopped and took off, lasted about a year than the trans went out. have had about 30 cars since then- sirthomas

4x4 grinds???
are you trying to put it in 4 high or 4 low? you should be able to put it in 4 high while moving, but you must stop and put it in neutral to go to 4 low- sirthomas

replacing the thermostat??
drain the radiator into a 5 gal pail, remove the upper radiator hose, (I found it a lot easier by removing the serpentine belt first) remove the 3 bolt holding the thermostat housing on, (be careful not to drop the rear bolt down behind the water pump, I used a needle nose plier to hold the bolt...- sirthomas

Wheel Hub Pops
my truck makes the same noise sometimes, I replaced my hub assembly,the knuckle and dust seals, and put on manual lockouts. none of this was due to that noise just all were bad. it still has the noise, sounds like something hitting the truck. I believe its in the HVAC system go to this site...- sirthomas
