    Rotella T 5W-40 price?

When the new 5-40 CJ4/SM Rotella came out less than a year ago... it was $18/gal at wally world. Then they went to $20/gal. Now they're at $22/gal. Advance Auto and autozone I believe are cheaper... in the $19.99/gal range. Wally went up on 5qt jugs of 15-40 MotorCraft oil. $9.99/jug, not...

    Question Transfer Case

yup, it's basically like running 2 transmissions inline. the first is your normal trans, the next is the Tcase which selects power output option.

Watch out for crazy 18 wheelers...

I guess I have to bring it up... Can you imagine if you were driving a Smart car, or civic in this situation?

    Rear Vibration, TSB & Dealer

Yeah the tires say max 80psi, and ford is saying 65 all around. I bet if you do a wear pattern 70ish is better upfront... I'll be doing wear patterns this weekend.

    Rear Vibration, TSB & Dealer

Ok, mine is done correct than... on the driver side of the hitch web. :D They told me tires bad, I gave them TSB # and said I want that done. Done. :watchout It's just a big counter weight to absorb some vibes back there... oh well it works. This weekend I'm going to go over my driveline...

    Rear Vibration, TSB & Dealer

POWERBOATR- Did they mount yours to the side of the Hitch? on the LR? That's what it looks like, but I can't tell for 100%. that thing has to weight o over 20#'s...

    Rear Vibration, TSB & Dealer

I will have pics and TSB # posted this evening. Like I said... really big stupid looking part but Obviously Ford's engineers think it's good. It's only held on with 3 bolts to the hitch... so I could easily take it off, and put i back on for comparison. but it's working for now. ;tu

    Rear Vibration, TSB & Dealer

Picked it up today. They did do the TSB. It's a HUGE vibration mount that bolts to the side of the LR hitch. Looks like the guy did a clean install on it, even painted the bolts. the alignment dimple is centered too. It cut the vibes down I'd say 50%, deff worth having it done. Really stupid...

    Rear Vibration, TSB & Dealer

Well I took my truck to the dealer b/c I have "THE" rear vibration around 45-48mph. I've checked my driveling angles, road force balanced tires and had 3 sets of different tires (2 AT/S's and 1 procomp), stock height, 4" lift... back to stock and the vibe is still there throughout all of that...

Thinking of trading in your diesel on gas??

Exactly. I agree. Knowing how things turned out, if I could do it over again, I would of bought a used Tacoma or new F150. Those are the only other trucks I really like that would of made more sense. Or maybe even a new GMC 1500 "classic", b/c at my buying time GM had the older bodies on the...

Thinking of trading in your diesel on gas??

Butch, seems you are doing as I am to a tee. I leave my truck parked in the garage and only drive it on the weekends to haul and move items if needed. Other than that we use the girl's Suzuki Wagon as much as possible. and during the week I'm lucky enough to have a 4cyl company car. :hail:hail...

Thinking of trading in your diesel on gas??

High on the theft list is something I really got suprised with.... didn't see that one coming. the rest are my fault. So Fuel prices & Theft I got swindled on :tounge OH well, some days are tougher to deal with it, some days I love the truck more.

Thinking of trading in your diesel on gas??

JLD-exactly. A lot of people seem to think having a F250 for commuting is ridiculous now. I got screwed b/c I got a heck of a deal on my truck when diesel was $2.35/gal. Now I'm up the creek, can't sell it, can't trade, can't afford to drive it daily as it was bought to do so. Can't...

Thinking of trading in your diesel on gas??

I'm not getting in a pissing match here. All I know is in March 2007 I paid $2.35/gal for diesel in Tampa. Now it's $4.49-$4.79/gal Just over a year later. Take it as you will, I have better things to spend my money on, and right now a F150 is so much cheaper $/Mile no matter which way you look...

Thinking of trading in your diesel on gas??

Butch- Bingo man. exactly what I'm trying to say. Data from yrs past is not really helping us on where we are going in these markets. 20, or 50yrs ago "global warming" wasn't an issue. (Still not, it's just propoganda for the commies). look at the rest of the world... only in America do...

Thinking of trading in your diesel on gas??

They keep diesel just high enough to offset the price of owning one for most folks. It's always about %18 more expensive... which is "randomly" how much better mileage most diesels get vs their gas counterpart.

Thinking of trading in your diesel on gas??

I know... but I can only afford so much Arse raping. :dizzy and it's garaged (it fits!!) now which is a big plus. And it's still a sharp truck and bigger than a smart car, prius, Xa etc.

    10.9 is getting old.

I think mileage is very finiky and hit or miss. I can see up to 24mpg's in my 6.0. A/c is a killer, along with speed. Did you have your PCM reflashed to the most current update? I'd give the truck a 101 point inspection... dragging brakes, tire pressure, oil, etc. I know the mechanical cooling...

Thinking of trading in your diesel on gas??

I agree. I removed my lift, removed my 35's and am completely stock other than my Exhaust & cosmetic mods. I parked it in my garage and so it sits... washed, waxed and in complete darkness. We drive my girl's 4cyl Suzuki as much as possible and keep that thing tuned up in tip top shape. During...

Thinking of trading in your diesel on gas??

that was me that brought hiluxes up. It's a toyota. but Nissan makes a version also. I think Hilux means truck in other languages.. not really sure. But I've had a early 90's yota and it was great.. Yotas are awsome off-road b/c of size and weight. and don't do that bad on MPG's when lifted up...

    Question Gear Ratio Mixing

I ran 5.38's and 5.29's with 35" tires on a Off-road rig. worked fine. But the ratios you mentioned are WAY WAY!!!!! off from each other. DO NOT USE different ratios. 3.73 is your ideal ratio for 99% of folks. I have the OEM 20's and 275 GY's and love the 3.73 combo.

Thinking of trading in your diesel on gas??

Well please post back. I heard myth buster did a bit on it and said, BUSTED, but they're not always right. I've seen some reviews saying Carb style engines are better for it.... The idea is to use electrolysis to break apart water... and the H goes back to a gas, Hydrogen, and the engine sucks...

Have you seen the F-250 Super Chief?

The new 08 6.4 style is growing on me. I like the tailgates and bumpers and interior. I even like the front end..... almost as good as the 05-07's. :sly A 6.4/6.0 hybrid would be ideal style IMO, and shrink it down to F150/Tundra size and call it a F175 for the city rednecks like me. So we can...
