    SES light while accelerating

alright....the verdict is......the valve cover gasket where the plug goes thru it was going bad. Replace VC gasket.....good as new.

    SES light while accelerating

The code I got was for the IDM. So, in doing some searching, it could be a loose wire, or a frayed wire possibly under the valve cover. Obviously, I know where to look under the valve cover, but the loose wire to the IDM I am a little lost. Can anyone lead me there?

    SES light while accelerating

Just went outside and started it up. It ran fine, no SES light either. It had sat for about an hour since driving. Gonna have whatever codes read tommorrow, if nobody has any ideas, I will post whatever I find out, so when this happens to someone else.....we will all look like geniuses!!!!

    SES light while accelerating

I am going to do that, but I was hoping someone else has had a similar problem. I drive it 45 miles each way to work and don't really have time to mess with getting it to a shop, but I am gonna have to. If anyone has any ideas I can check in the dark, fire them out. Got a long drive...

    SES light while accelerating

well, now the SES light is on all the time now. And the engine still seems to run rough. It is putting out a lot more smoke, but I don't know what color because I was driving it at night. Any ideas? I don't have any.....

    SES light while accelerating

what about fuel filter? if a fuel filter was clogging, would a decreased flow set off a code? Just a thought, I'm gonna get some filters (air & fuel) tommorrow.......

    SES light while accelerating

you can only pull the code when the light is on, isn't that correct? The light went out if I stopped accelerating, so unless it happens again and I have a code reader plugged in.....which will never happen btw. Feel free to spout out some ideas. At least then I have somewhere to start.:burnit

    SES light while accelerating

truck is stock. I have done the CPR fuel system from Dieselsite, and the tymar type air filter, but I wouldn't think that would cause the problem.

    SES light while accelerating

I had a strange thing happen today, my truck felt like it was missing and the SES light would come on when I tried to accelerate. The light would go off if I let off the pedal. It did it for a minute or so, then right back to normal. Any ideas?

    7.3 milege dropping

My experience is that the closer winter gets, the worse my fuel mileage is. Since I am near Chicago, it could be a cold weather winter blend?. Anyway, you will lose a bit of mileage with the tires, but they look way better. You have to sacrifice to look good! :thumbs
