    OEM back up camera

One of the cooler options that have been released recently! I'm with you Bush, I've had others ask about that too... Just put in a switched power on the reverse circuit and you can have reverse camera when you like!

    Extra fuel capacity

Believe me, I'm with you on this one. Dual tanks are a factory option, you should be able to add the secondary if you didn't actually order it from the factory. I digress.... Keep in mind two things: emissions and safety. Ford can't approve aftermarket secondary tanks because they don't know...

    Extra fuel capacity

Bush, the problem is with government (read: EPA) certification. Once a vehicle is built to a certain safety and emission certification, it is technically illegal for us (the OEM and dealerships) to modify it. All for that little door jamb sticker.

    Extra fuel capacity

Bush, anytime there is a DTC pertaining to the fuel sender circuits, the ICM defaults to a no fuel display (for safety reasons and to keep you from blowing up your engine). That strategy is present in many years of our vehicles.

    Extra fuel capacity

Mike, filling the tank with the key on will not set any codes, but the cluster will be in anti-slosh mode, causing the gauge to update at a snail's pace.

    Extra fuel capacity

You would still run into the gauge, check engine light, and low fuel message after running off the secondary tank for a while. If you are looking to extend the range of your truck, you would need to use the secondary tank as a personal gas pump, filling the primary tank with the key off when...

    Extra fuel capacity

If you installed a second fuel tank that fed the first and kept it full, the ICM and PCM would see no fuel usage and would eventually set a fuel sender signal failure and display E on the gauge, the low fuel light, and "Low Fuel Level" in the message center. If you installed a factory system...

    Extra fuel capacity

You can get a dual tank setup from the factory but you have to change the configuration in the ICM to install it aftermarket, which we're not allowed to do. Not to say you couldn't clone an identical vehicle, but it would have to be identical.

    Interior Lights Not Going Off

Guys, in a truck with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) fobs, the Vehicle Security Module gets all of the door ajar inputs. It sends that message over the UBP network to the cluster, who controls the lights. So the ICM can be at fault if it turns the lights on without a message from the VSM...

turning off the Seat Belt Warning chime

Is the chime a really fast, annoying chime, or is it the Beltminder, which dings a couple of times every couple minutes with the light? If the chime is really fast all the time, it means that the seatbelt or airbag indicator circuit has failed, and chime is there letting you know that the light...

    extra connectors on truck

They are most likely for the secondary fuel sending unit if you only have a single tank. Should be a 4-pin round connector if that's what it is.

    Extra fuel capacity

The day you start putting extra fuel tanks in the 08 SuperDuty is the day you can kiss your fuel gauge goodbye.... those ICM's HATE extra tank setups (unless you know somebody that can change the configuration of the cluster).
