2000 PSD 7.3 Failed cont. test and buzz test

Ok so a friends 2000 7.3 started running and idling rough and has lost power . He already had the valve cover gaskets replaced (last week after this first started) I scanned it and did a buzz test and contribution test . It failed both . The buzz test I could hear a huge difference when it hit cyl. # 5 . Very quiet buzz . Contribution test also # 5 shows bad . Does this mean that injector is just bad ? Is there more to it ?

mostly. but did you use the connector clips for the uvh????

yeah, clip the injector harnesses together in the UVCH, if it still fails, it probably needs an injector

if no retro clips, use 2 quarters to shim the connector tight. kinda light penny'g a door shut.

I found it tonight . The wiring harness was shorting out on the shock mount and killing # 5 injector . 2nd wiring harness issue in the last couple weeks .

thats kind of funny i just fixed one it was killing number 5 injector too but it was rubbing on valve cover and grounding out. fixed it and new idm later and runs good
