Thought I would mention that the new tweeter housings in the 2008 trucks that cover the mirror bolts will fit right on to a 2002. You can stick your upgraded tweeters into these housings and get the best sound and location. The only difference I have found is that they are about 1/4" shorter so you have to make up the difference with some molding. It only shows when the door is open any way, but this will finish it off.

reportedly the fit isnt PERFECT...and in those photos you can see
a 1/4" gap at the bottom of the panel/cover.

Part #'s for the panels;
Drivers' side part# 7C34-17D699-BD3JA6
Pass. side part# 7C34-17D698-BD3JA6

prices are between 55 & 65 bucks each...and one report of
them as being as low as 40 (not including the factory tweeter)

--------------------------------------------------------------

OK i found some more (conflicting) part numbers....
7C3Z-17K709-DA
7C3Z-17K709-CA

and another "report" saying they were 30 odd dollars.

--------------------------------------------------------------

None of the part numbers resolves (from a legit/retailer) when
googled.

Thanks. I ordered a set of the 08 covers with speakers today. Pairing them up with my factory door speakers. Ill upgrade to some component speakers later, but for the time being how would I wire these tweeters in with the factory speakers? Just tap into the 6x8 and use the bass blockers?

man if your goin' to this kinda "trouble" you should take the time
to replace the factory door speakers....youll get a REAL cross over too.

My brother in law works at a ford dealer so I was able to pick these up at a good price. I will get some aftermarket speakers with a real crossover, but this will do for now. Thanks for the help!

Has anybody installed tweeters on the horizontal part of the door panel, just infront of the power mirror adjustment, or would this collect allot of dust?
