Looking for advice on the following 2 issues

04 Excursion 4wd

Ground rules - Ex cannot be lifted more than 2" max - (garage door)
Do not want to modify wheel wells
Do not want tires to rub

Summer
Would like 20 - 22 in rims (not sure of width) with basic summer tires
or all-seasons - anyone have this combo???

Winter
Intend to use stock rims. What is largest tire I can use (FULL SNOWS)?

Thanks

More than likely for your regular rims, 295's with a decent snow tire. Make sure your load range is correct. I have seen others with no lift run 24's but they were 2wd. With the 4x4 ya might be ok wiht the 20's. Interco makes a swamper to fit 20's, but if you want an All terrain, stick to the stock rims or go with a 18. I think you will be happier with them.

Hi Dag
For summer 22" I have no comment - I like the Off-Road look of high sidewall tires.
But for winter: the big, especially wide, is not always the best choise. A narrower tire gets in to the snow better and has less rolling resistance in snow. If studs are allowed, then here is your choise:

I've had these in all my trucks exept my present EX. But will have for next season.

Not sure width of rim but tire size is 325x50.and there is very lil rub when cranked all the way to the right. It rubs on the leafs a tiny bit.But it looks awesome!! and also no lift. looking to lower it and bag it. tires are about 33" in standard form.

Thanks for the reply, 1HiLimo
Pretty well have resolved the snowtire issue (stock rims - etc)
Been looking at some vehics w/ 20s and 22s and like the look alot
tires seem to all be in the 305/45 - 305/50 range
Wondering if you could share re: 22 x ??? rims and if you had any issues or
can give me any help regarding "offsets for the rims"
Thanks
