I haven't run my truck since last Sunday and with temps not getting above 15*F during the day all week, 1 normal glow plug cycle and the 'ol girl fired right up!! didn't have the block heater plugged in either just had a battery tender on the batts. I was happy camper :sweet don't think it would've happened that easy with 15w-40 dino oil.

I did used to run it would start like crazy in the winter but mine leaked so bad it was costing and arm and a leg so I switched to regular rotella.

I have used 5-40 for years and I know it makes a huge difference in the cold starts.

If you you think the 5w40 is good, you should try a 0w40. It makes the 5 look like molasses in the extreme cold weather. It's what I run in my big rigs in the winter.
